"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Well, at 2-3 am you're supposed to be dancing at the disco, aren't you?
yeah, I know. 2 or 3 am is when I went to the club. I ended up walking back home from the Elephant & Castle at 4:30 or 5, and walking back from Fabric (a much better club than MoS) too in Farringdon. They were nice walks, especially the one from Farringdon to Southwark cuz you buy a piping hot sammich at the 24hr place next door, and walk down through the city centre seeing all the cool mediaeval streets and classy buildings then cross the London Bridge. I had a really good time :)

Next time I would like to check out the Cross, the Fridge, and Turnmills. I also would like to see what is popping at Old Street, I met this bloke on the tube who told me I should visit Old Street at night, was he just giving me the piss or what?

Also, the busses in London are slow but reliable. Goddamn those nightbusses come every 45 minutes...

Much better time in Prague though... fell in love with a German speaking Swiss Girl... "Chuchichäschtli" ..."CHU-CHI-CHAESCHT-LI!!!" biatches.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
