I called this girl, joke around about her sleeping habits (sleeps alot)...Asked her what she was up to. She said cleaning up and doesn't think she's going to mow the grass (It's Friday, so I'm not about to ask her out for today)...I say mow the grass! They make you do that!? She said somebody has got to do it-- What about your dadz

BLOODY! To me this was flat out that's it...others might say, well take her for her word. So back to the question above.

Well, it was definitely a little awkward, but if she had high interest I think she would have been able to get past it. Your bigger problem was asking her out in the middle of Memorial Day weekend. Though it's a Sunday, it is the equivalent of a Saturday since Monday is a holiday. It is assumed if you are "popular" or "in demand" that you would have plans over the Memorial Day weekend.

Doh'! Yeah sometimes you can't help but screw up like that. You didn't know she didn't have a dad. Anyway, just look for other cues as to whether she's receptive - voice tone, raport, etc. Just from your post here it sounds like a possible next but I would say don't be too eager to next just yet. I'd say make some plans for a fun action date and then give it a shot next week.

Actually, called her back to take the pressure off calling me. Told her I that I actually forgot about the holiday and I have this all day BBQ to go to (which I really do)---- She played cool about it, and I think it was a wise move. I left off that maybe we'll hang out this week and I'll call her.
