Individualistic societies that operate with the nuclear family make having a family extremely expensive and inaccessible. As a result people postpone marriage till very late or in many cases, never and in the meantime fill their days with mindless degeneracy to compensate for the need of human connection. This pretty much destroys the middle class as only the very wealthy can afford to have a stable nuclear family. The lower class people are either perpetually single or single parents reliant on the state.

This encourages people to be selfish and irresponsible as they have nothing to gain in taking care of others and the state is forced to step in more and more. (e.g. its better to send kids to daycare and elders to old folk homes).

As a result, birth rates start to drop and thus the wellfare state economy starts to turn into a net loss. Society becomes more and more fragmented, polarized and impoverished.

You see this is the major issue with modern society and values. It's fragmentation and individualism which is fundamentally against human nature. My theory is that future generations will realize the problem here and fix it. E.g. they will be perfectly fine with their kids spouses living in their house.

Rich people live in the same society but yet they survive....they are bombared with the same propaganda, same TV shows, etc... but yet they make the right decisions. They eat the right foods, choose the right careers, etc? Why is this?

individualistic? The COVID lockdowns and mask/vaccine mandates for the sake of the "public good" at personal expense tell you exactly how individualistic our society and the people in it are.

I think the keyword is not 'individualism' but 'responsibility.' Part of what you are describing is people lacking in responsibility. There are other factors at work too.

its like how they try to tell us we live in Capitalism now. We have never had true capitalism without government interference. It’s always been socialism/communism to a greater or lesser extent
The Wild West was pretty close. I think we still need some regulation to keep companies from getting too powerful (e.g. Big Tech), but the problem is that once those companies get big enough, they can buy politicians.

I disagree completely on people being able to afford families. You can afford a family so long as you're not trying to live in a giant city and you're willing to make some sacrifices. But I will agree that today's young people are too entitled to even think about that most of the time. Hell, a big chunk of them aren't even interested in having sex, let alone having a family.

Young people are not "the lucky ones" as the boomers who fvcked up everything keep saying.

When there is no certainity to even be able to keep what you have now (let alone get more) how can someone plan long term or even rely in complex systems as "society".

Also OP you confuse being individualistic and selfish with watch your own back and bet on yourself.

Mosto problems however could be solved by allowing people to associate only with those they want which is the opposite of the current mom state that forces the smart kids to play with the dumb kids and forces those who saved to share with those who didnt.
