It could be books, articles, videos, or other resources have you read or "engaged" or " directly experiencied" that have had a strong impact on you, made you aware of things you previously ignored, and contributed to your maturity as a man.

Having a mother who was a butch dyke/lobotomized baboon hybrid, and a father who was a walking poster child for the term "mangina", unable to even stand up for himself by dropkicking that f-cking animal back to whatever primate exhibit he found her in, and finding himself a mate that could at least masquerade as part of the human race

Though it took me awhile to figure out that no one was coming to save me(or any of us, for that matter), this did prompt me to make a conscious effort to become a formidable, psychologically mature man, granted I'm far from perfect at it today

There are traits one can only get from walking across metaphorical broken glass with his bare feet, and learning that it's survivable, even if painful
