"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I found this at a certain website (you know to whom I'm referring):

@@@

When I heard about leg lengthening a procedure where the bones are stretched to make you taller I felt hope for the first time. I joined a leg lengthening forum and saw many success stories from people who said that even at my age I could benefit from such a surgery. Then on Halloween of last year I was beaten up by a group of skater kids that was the final straw for me. I simply had to go through with the leg lengthening. Then I started looking for doctors worldwide and found one in Delhi, India: Dr. Vikram Khanna at Aakash Healthcare in Dwarka. He advertised himself as an expert in limb lengthening using modern techniques such as intramedullary nails for precise bone stretching. The price was 80000 US dollars not exactly cheap but I somehow scraped the money together by selling my car using my savings and borrowing from family like my sister. I wasted no time in contacting the doctor first by email and then by phone. He told me the surgery could work at my age but recovery would be slower and there was higher risk of delayed healing. I barely heard the risks. I just wanted to be taller. When he said I could maybe gain from 5'5 to around 5'7 or 5'8 I didn't question it much. I scheduled the surgery for June 3rd and on May 15th of that year I flew to India.

The moment I landed in Delhi excitement was mixed with fear but I was determined to make it happen. I checked into my hotel feeling like I was finally in control of my destiny. When I arrived at the clinic everything looked clean and the staff seemed professional enough. On June 3rd they brought me in for the procedure. It was a blur of lights and voices until I woke up from the anesthesia. The pain in both thighs was intense. Dr Khanna came by later and said the nails were in place and everything looked fine on the Xrays. A few days later they started the daily lengthening. It hurt more than I expected. The pressure in the bones felt constant. By the third week I had some swelling and soreness around the right thigh that wouldnt go away. The nurses told me it was normal and to keep elevating it. By week seven the pain on the right side was getting sharper. I told Dr Khanna about it more than once. He said inflammation is common and to continue the distractions as planned. I kept going because I was already thousands of dollars in and didn't want to stop halfway. Every day I hoped the pain would ease. It didn't.

Around week eleven the pain got much worse overnight. I woke up that day with a pain so blinding I couldn't even open my eyes but instead of the usual dull roar it was a sharp tearing sensation. The nurse called the doctor. They took new Xrays and found a fracture through the new bone on the right femur. The room got quiet. Dr Khanna looked at the images for a long time and then said the regenerate had broken and they needed to stop lengthening that side immediately. My right femur had snapped clean in two. They transferred me to a larger hospital in Delhi for further evaluation. I was scared that this was how my life would end in a hospital bed in another country. At the new hospital the specialists ran more scans and told me the fracture had disrupted the healing bone and there was also nerve irritation. They stabilized it with additional hardware and said the lengthening on that leg was over. One of the doctors sat down with me later and explained it plainly. The structural damage was significant. I would likely have ongoing weakness, chronic pain, and some permanent limitation in how far I could walk or stand. He said full recovery of normal strength was unlikely.

I spent the next two months moving between the hospital and a rehab place. Money was running low fast. My sister and parents sent what they could but it was never enough for everything. I was in a lot of pain most days and the physical therapy was slow. I felt isolated in a country where I barely spoke the language. When they finally cleared me to fly home I left in a wheelchair. The flight back to the US felt endless. I cried on and off the whole way. When I got home and walked into my apartment for the first time I just stood there looking around. Nothing had changed in the room but I had. I was a ghost returning to a grave. Instead of standing six inches taller I ended up being a permanent cripplelegged version of my former 5'5 self. My limbs are essentially ruined and half my leg is useless anyway. Every time I glance in a mirror I'm hit with that crushing wave of reality the same short man but now limping weak and completely broken. What was the point of all that risk all that pain and all those lost money if I just ended up being a worse version of my former self. Damn it Hector you idiot all for nothing. You were so desperate for those foids and their validation that you literally broke yourself just to satisfy your ego. You fool. I cursed myself for ever believing anything. I cursed those skater kids who beat me up and I cursed women for rejecting me and pushing me into doing the surgery. My rage made me want to scream until my lungs bled. I felt like I was drowning in my own skin. My anger was poison and it was eating me alive from the inside out. I wondered if all the people on that leg lengthening forum knew what people were truly risking. I should have known that seeking love from people who only despise my height would always end in tragedy like this. I look at my reflection and only see a 43 year old cripple who let himself be tricked. Everything I did to fix myself backfired horribly. The surgery didn't work. It broke me permanently. It was supposed to be my salvation instead its the end. Now I live alone with chronic leg pain every day cant stand too long without needing to sit cant walk far without limping badly. Doctors say theres nothing they can do except manage symptoms now because damage is permanent. Dr Khanna didn't warn me enough. Not once did he say that my age increases fracture risk by 70 percent and that older patients often fail. He promised a slow but full recovery within months. But here we are 4 months later you guys are reading what happened to me and honestly I am embarrassed to even write this but I held off posting for months because of the shame. I'm not taller. I'm not strong. I can't even walk without pain shooting through one leg like lightning every single step. My life is over. If youre reading this thinking about getting leg lengthening surgery especially an older guy like me mid40s or above DONT DO IT! Don't gamble your body on some shady procedure abroad hoping for miracles. The risks are higher when you are past 40. Some clinics will tell you what you want to hear. I learned that the hard way. Dr Khanna took my money and gave me nothing but suffering. Spare yourself from ending up like me. And I'm not gonna stop spreading this warning until every last one of you understands. My pain doesn't belong to me alone it belongs to anyone who follows in my footsteps like fools. Don't let my foresight become your hindsight. Don't make the same mistake I did. Don't gamble with your entire life. FOR GODS SAKE DONT DO IT!

Here's an originally 5'11" man that had tried it to get an extra 2", and he's also now a cripple:

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

I have not long ago had a replacement knee, three months now and still quite painful...Bone has pain receptors and takes a long time to heal.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

That guy would have been so much better off if he would have just hit the gym

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
