"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

As we all know, one of the keys to becoming a DJ is the ability to put up with rejection and not let it bother you.

So lets' make a thread with some of the funniest rejections, they can be funny for any reason. Perhaps the way you went about the whole thing was AFC (these ones are always the funniest in my opinion :D), maybe she had a boyfreind or maybe she gave you a funny rejection.

I've got a couple to start us up.

1.

Me and my mates approached a couple of girls in a bar, this was actually my first real cold approach. I eventually got one of their numbers and went home. The week after I was out again and thought I'd see if she was about, so I got hold of her and was promptly greeted with the following,

"Sorry, I'm at my boyfreind's house"

Me and my mate just burst out laughing!!!:D

2.

I was in a club and saw a girl sitting by herself, she was only about a 5-6 but I thought it'd be the prime oppurtunity to tune the DJ strings. I approached her and the following conversation ensued:

Me: So, what are you doing sat by yourself then?
Girl: Not much
Me: You should be out dancing, it cost a fiver to get in here
Girl: I was dancing earlier, my mates have gone to get some drinks
Me: Right, but you still should be having a good time, why are you sat here looking so morbid?
Girl: Because I ****ing want to, alright?

I again thought this was rather funny, it's amazing how annoyed some people can get with people who are just trying to be freindly!

So what are your funniest rejections then guys?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

a reliable source

A friend of mine picked up a date from a chick at a club and went to her house. I think he actually borrowed this line by the way but this guy doesn't lie.

He was concerned because he couldn't remember what she looked like. He took flowers to the unit and knocked on the door. Apparently she was, well, he said she had several layers of teeth and was kinda sluggish and fugly.

She openned the door, he said "Hi" handed her the flowers and said "these are for you, thanks for the date, I came in the car, good night". Turned and went back to his car.

This guy has had probably 1000 women, he is 37, single and only had one relationship that lasted four months. He gets a woman EVERY time he goes out and has NEVER asked a woman for a date prior or since that time. He use to tell me "you have to be a staya to be a playa".

Mind you, this guy is very good looking.

"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.
