Can't remember where I heard the quote, but it went something along the lines of, chase happiness, pleasure (dopamine) is fleeting and once you get it you want more, happiness is ever lasting.

In other words bedding five women might give you pleasure but will it really make you happy?

True, you have sex with a beautiful woman.......yes, it feels good and you might be on cloud 9 for a few days, but then things get back to normal and you crave more and it just creates a vicious cycle.

St. Thomas Aquinas said we humans try and fill ourselves up with wealth, power, pleasure and honor but in the end these things don't lead to joy. The heart only finds rest (joy) in God.

I've come to realise this.

Not really..... sex isn't the end all be all... pleasure is good in doses.. but balance is key.

Chasing pleasure can and will burn you out and make you numb to it... plus once you get older you realize companionship.... loyalty and trust have a lot more value than just pleasure.
