Then when the woman starts losing interest they go into an emotional death spiral. That's what happens when you value a woman more than you value yourself.

The phony qualities women fake to seduce men are often no where to be found in reality. For me this is the ultimate stumbling block and the most primal reason why we get into LTRs. What do you do if you want to pass on your genes, but want your kids to have healthy childhoods (not just for its own sake but so you don't repeat what you were born into) and avoid this trap?

Selecting a woman to reproduce with whom will make a good mother is different from selecting a Disney bride soulmate you think you NEED to be happy in life.

Of course a woman can always attempt to take your kids away from you and their is little you can do about it. Ultimately, that's just the risk you take when you have kids. Society sees women as the "good parent" by default.. even when that's not the case.
