This has been a point of annoyance for me lately.

I come across more and more women these days with an obnoxiously lofty self-image. I call them "horn-tooters".

It's basically the female equivalent of a guy running around talking about what huge fvcking balls he has. Every mundane or otherwise normal accomplishment has to be touted as somehow above the rest of the world who has done the same thing. These women cant resist the temptation to tell you how AMAZING their life is, or how AMAZING they are with their CRAZY friends, or how most guys don't deserve them, with their beauty and charm and TOTALLY SPONTANEOUS CRAZINESS and smarts too!!

Ive never really been one to toot my own horn, maybe that's why I despise this so much. Let your accomplishments speak for themselves, rather than let your fat mouth belie your banality and self importance.

Interesting, as I just met one of these horn tooters (her line was how crazy her friends are, how much she gets "game" players, etc....which didn't stop her from coming home with me the night we finally met face to face, so I could care less about her friends).

I think this is more shi t testing. Besides, who would you rather be with...a woman with no self image or a very low self image, or one who thought she was something special...and then you can ****y/funny with her and have some fun bringing her into your world.

I'd rather be with a woman who has a grounded view of herself. Horn-tooters just might be one of the most annoying female demographics since feminists or vegans.

Actually I think it's great that more and more women toot their own horns with whatever sucesses they get...

When this country gets to a point of paying women for equal work as us men then maybe I'll think diferently then it will be an even playing field...but until then more power to these women who toot toot their own horns for the successes they get it don't bother me nor does it hurt my feelings one bit it only seems to hurt the feelings of those men I don't agree with.

I don't think it's a filtration system. I think it's a manifestation of their ever-present need for attention. Blatant self-inflation is just a more overt push for attention, often used when others fail (e.g. their looks) or when they receive so much validation from their looks that they superimpose this on other facets of their identity.

I see these woman with an over-inflated ego all the time. And it's probably the biggest turn off and it's totally unfeminine. Typically they'll be about 28, maybe divorced and might even have a kid or 4, and some middle-class token job that women always seem to get. It's like they were pulled right out of Sex and the City. However you want to explain it it is female ego meeting female entitlement and it's annoying and even repulsive.

These are sad sad woman - cougars acting like hot little kittens.

Apparently they stiil want "walks along a moonlit beach, romantic dinners, weekends in the country and a man who know how to treat a lady ".

However when i ask them what they see as their contibution to a mature relationship I get a big blank silent stare. IT seems that they still believe that their mere presence should be enough.
