"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

This book looks like total over the top drek full of outlandish bull. And I should have my copy tomorrow. I figured I would give one last try at things before totally giving up hope of finding someone. I am simply Tired of this crap, this seemingly endless loop of failure I have had. I am tired of falling for girls who have no interest or not seeing those who do. Most of all I am tired of just hoping a girl will fall into my lap.

Whether or not I take any of the boon into practice at least I will have something to entertain me for a bit. If nothing else a social experiment.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

the game is a good book but don't learn from it. its all outdated. canned material is lame, game now is all about becoming a self actualized, confident man. check out rsdnation.com, i think thats the best game material online.

I forgot to mention I ordered the rules of the game too. I think the biggest hurdle when it comes to this stuff is myself.

And I'll say this (because I think the meme needs to get out there and be repeated), more than ever it is about 'selection' right now. That means letting your lay count take a back seat and only rewarding 'worthy' women with your time and energy (or your cawk!).

It's about personal integrity to an extent, but it's very much about 'correcting' the entitlement attitude and distorted SMV's we're all dealing with out there. It's simple carrot and stick stuff, writ large.

And it does work, you can have an influence. Despite the fact that there are hundreds of other supplicating chumps ready to paw over some used up, charmless Milf, when you say no thanks, not good enough, not for me, that has ripples, that has broader consequences. I've seen it first hand.

Slightly off topic I know, but I'm waving the flag wherever and whenever I can on this one.

Otherwise, Neil Strauss actually does pretty good gonzo journalism, I'd like to see him tackle other sub-cultures - in addition to pua, he's also done survivalists/preppers. I guess the pua stuff pays the bills though.

So I have been reading this thing and can't help that this guy sounds almost like me. The self esteem issues, the over thinking, low voice, etc. In other words, the biggest obstacle, could be ones self.

However, I am unsure if I buy into the stories presented in the book. They still seem a bit outlandish. Things seem counterintuitive to what I think they should be. And perhaps this is my problem.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
