100 Million opening day....War Against Betaism said:I wonder how well this did at the box office. At the opening night, all 14 theaters were packed. I can't imagine how filled it was on the actual opening day. I saw even kids dressed up as Batman going into the theaters. I really wouldn't be surprised if it cracked into the top 10 box office sales of all time in the US.
They could have split it into two good movies, but I'm glad they made it one big great one. That's prob my favorite villain too.War Against Betaism said:Yeah I know, he who is not to be spoiled is one of my favorite villains in the Batman series and it was really a treat to have them introduce him in the movie.
Now that you said that, this movie does open the door for an adaptation of Framk Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns". Although, sadly, Heath Ledger's brilliance (which would have been perfect for Miller's take on the Joker) will have to be replaced by someone else who will have some big shoes to fill.Rovalier said:Loved the ending. I don't see how people saw it as bleak... ya its not the classic happy sugar coated ending, but it shows character and inspiration. Doing the right thing even if you get hated for it. No ***** footing endings when people are not left without scars. The fact it's a mainstream summer 'blockbuster' film is a shocker.
I'm glad it is making good money, it deserves it. On my book, it doesn't matter if the film (or Ledger) gets nominated or wins, it will last and be remembered through the test of time.
Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.
