I don't find blonds particularly more attractive than any other race or white women in general. I can't remember off the top of my head many guys who think that way either. Blue eye color is a nice twist, but I find it equally nice to green eyes. I've seen nice eyes with red tints in magazines, I'm not sure if thats natural though. Women with light/blonde hair also dye their hair darker colors sometimes. All this makes me doubt the rest of the article.

This article has some intelligent perspectives and info, but I have a feeling that elitism was part of the motivation in writing this article.

Pretty interesting. I don't agree with the accessment of blondes though. He didn't prove that preference for blondes was universal. Now if he showed studies that men in isolated tribes in the Amazon and S. Pacific also prefered blonde European woman over their own, then I might be convinced, but I think the preference we do see is manufactured by media and a culture where caucasian beauty standards are sold as the most desirable. I mean Goth and emo people find black hair attractive, punks find green and purple hair attractive(even if fake), I think what we consider attractive is very maleable.

Actually in asian countries lighter skin is preferred. But in American and European countries tanner skin is preferred. I've seen many girls who I thought were Filipino from behind but when they turned around, they were totally white. They just had fake tans, lol.

I think this has more to do with being 'exotic' than any instinctual human desire. When you're different, you stand out thus you get more attention.

Blonde hair arose so MEN could tell which women were young? How does it benefit the WOMAN's survival or reproductive chances to have a hair color that makes her attractiveness decline so rapidly?

A lot of this evolutionary stuff is just pointing at features, like blond hair, and making up silly little reasons for them that had nothing to do with someone's odds of reproducing.

It's not bull****. In a polygynist society only the top 10%-15% of men will have women. This will result in a large underclass that will become very desperate and very angry. Historically when there has been a woman shortage two things have resulted: war and rape.
