Telling her you like her

So guys I went around searching the forums for this question but it was difficult finding anything about it.

It's a simple question: Is it good to tell a girl that you like or are interested in her?

From what I see, it can be good because the girl may look at you in a new light and start to become more interested in you than before. However, it can be bad because the mystery might be over and there's nothing left for her to "work" towards.

I would suggest against that. That kind of **** never worked in the real world, just back in junior high school and stuff. If you tell a woman you like her, and get all weird/mushy, that will most likely push them away. Thats my experience tho. Like mr_elor said, let your actions do the talking.
