Taking birth control every other day

I just found out this girl is only taking her pill every other day. Not even every day.

She stayed over and I said “did you take your pill” she said she can’t remember, she might have taken it yesterday, or last night, I said how can you not know? It’s 17:23 right now.

Anyway she said she’s going to check, I said good let’s heck and followed her to her bag, she pulled the packet out and I see there’s only one every other day being taken.

Her excuse is there’s enough hormone that it protects her, still keeps her face clear and she doesn’t get too much of it in her system.

I said that’s not cool and she should have told me and basically lied to me about it. She said sorry, I said it’s fine we ain’t having sex anymore.

She apologised again and said she would take it every day.

Thoughts? Give me some advice please.

If there is one thing I learned about women over the years. Never trust them with birth control. Make her get the shot or implant for the piece of mind. Even with Plan B. Make sure she takes it in front of you.

So, the way hormonal birth control works is that, whatever the chosen method is, that method delivers enough hormones to trick the body into thinking it's pregnant, because when the body is pregnant/thinks it's pregnant, the body doesn't release an egg.

When there is a lack of that hormone the body will release an egg, and that egg will travel down the fallopian tubes, and could potentially get inseminated and implant in the uterus.

Her explanation that one pill will cover 2 days is completely bogus. In fact women are told to take the pill at the same time everyday to keep the hormone level constant, because if they take it 6 to 8 hours late that's enough of a window for an egg to release.

AND if she is taking antibiotics, the antibiotics render hormonal both control useless.

I'm not entirely certain why that happens but there used to be a sticky on the side of the antibiotic pill container reminding women that hormonal birth control does not work when you're taking antibiotics

Tell her what you just said - you are angry and will be unable to enjoy your Saturday night - then go get the morning after pill and have her take it.

I just said the same thing to her re clear skin

She came back from Mexico a few weeks ago, then came on her period and since last Saturday has been back on the pill. I know she’s most likely fine as she’s been taking it solidly for so long but the deception here is what gets me.

She just apologised again for not taking it every day and also not telling me about it.

Regarding the morning after - i kinda don’t want to bring that up, maybe just ride it out for now
