At this point I'm almost content spending it alone or just going to bed early.

All my friends have gfs/wives and will be spending it together. Basically a couples night/party. I never have fun when I try attending and no single friends are ever present, if anything some outside friends with their significant others show up.

Not to mention they tend to engage in board games and pair up.

My suggestion is dependent on the size of your city...
I've been in your exact situation in 2010.
I ended up going to a huge bar hosting a new years event alone rather than tagging alone with one of my married friends. I had a blast. Practice your stuff that night. Women don't want to be alone anymore than men. Its easy picking.

There are tons of social events going on tonight (my city anyway).

Women everywhere wanting to be kissed at midnight. You can almost pull a stranger without objection.

What kind of bullcrap is that anyway? Bars are full of women (which is likeable), people are happy (which is likeable), you can dance (which is likeable), you can act out and do things that are not socially acceptable in normal settings (which is likeable). Etcetera...
