"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Do any of you ever feel at times that on most forums SS included that some of the "advice" given by certain posters/"Gurus" has more to do with their own negativity/ misery loves company/ lack of success rather than really trying to be helpful to your situation?

I realize that most questions asked often require the not what a person wants to hear truth for their own good, but do any of you ever feel some posters on here or other sites would rather keep the misery loves company "truth" in their "advice" given for the "advice" givers OWN sake? (Like a crab in the bucket mentality.)

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

People like to have their ideas validated by others, it makes them feel better about their own situations. Some have already made up their minds and don't want to hear anything to the contrary.

I personally just go by my own experiences and do honestly try to assess a situation without being too biased. I am generally not a negative person and sometimes I say something negative that I feel with the hope that someone will contradict me and give me a different idea. I sometimes want someone to show me that I might just be wrong when I get into a negative/defeatist mindset.

Some people just love being miserable.

I think overall the advice given here is from guys who went through crazy experiences and the bulk of it being "hey man, watch out, don't do this because THIS will happen, and as a result THAT will be inevitable".

Some posters are negative towards women and I don't blame them. A lot of us got burned for what, being too 'nice'? You just gotta keep an open mind and use what is helpful for YOU.

We already are commiserating in our woman-hunting quests just by being here in the first place. That in itself is the therapy.

We are social learners... and misery is definitely contagious. But should this not be merged with your last thread ?

I think a person has to be here a while and do a bit of reading so they can learn the backgrounds of the members posting here. It really does make a difference. None of us have the exact same story to tell, though many of us share similar experiences on any given topic. I personally try to post on topics where I think I might have a clue.

I read some posts and wonder to myself if the writer is trying to be truly helpful, or is just giving a reflexive negative reaction based on his limited experience on the subject. A perfect example of this are the guys who are convinced you'll never find a decent woman in the entire United States.... Ummm... OK...??? Maybe THEY haven't had any luck finding a good woman in the U.S., but I and many others have.

Advice seekers need to do their own research to find their happy medium. I think it's just as hazardous to be all the way on the naive side as it is to be on the jaded side.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Most important is to not be brainwashed by anything on this site. You WERE someone before you came here and to simply "Tyler Durden" what this site encompasses will ultimately deplete your true self. I take advice on this board with a grain of salt, sure there may be some bitterness in the posts, but it does not negate the effectiveness. This site has shown me invaluable perspectives on life and I apply them accordingly.

In simpler terms:

What works for Brad Pitt, won't work for Marilyn Manson.
