"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Wanted to see if you guys have any experience with this.

I've done it 3-4 times. The negatives:

1) The women look like trolls for the most part (hey that's why they're single I guess)
2) The women don't put down matches, for fear of being rejected by a guy
3) It's awkward and unnatural
4) You only have about 5 minutes to talk to the person
5) You don't really get to be alone with the girl
6) Most of the women say it's their "first time" doing it and they were dragged there by their girlfriends

My buddy told me the key is to ask for the number right away rather than wait for them to match with you. This was legit advice.

There are other, better events out there, like Lock and Key. I met some quality females there and a few of them showed interest.

Of course, meetup is the best because it's more natural and worst case scenario you make new friends.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

The best thing to do at a speed dating event is get there a half hour before, build rapport with someone who interests you.

Instead of just the five minutes, you could have 10 extra minutes with 3 different girls that actually interest you before the whole thing starts.

If you've done well enough before the event begins when you have the 5 minutes with these girls and there's mutual interest you can take the next step right then and there. Ask them if they want to go for a drink right when the event ends, or go for the number close then when you're sitting across each other with the clock ticking.

I agree, it's awkward, but you've gotta look at the lead up to the event, and the post-event opportunities as your best chance to click with somebody.

I've done three speed dating events and got laid that night at all three. Two of them were with one if the event hostesses. :D

From what I saw, most of the guys at these things are AFCs, nerds and pussies.
If you have any sort of game, dress to the nines, put on your cheekiest grin and go along. You'll be head and shoulders above 95% of the other men there.
