Interesting experiment they did.. for some reason, it really reminds me of what people go through with approach anxiety.

It was basically a study on having people go onto public transportation and ask people to give up their seats. A majority of them did, although both parties felt quite uneasy during the encounter.

Really good post, dude. I get this feeling of nausea when I break a lot of our social conventions... nice to know I'm not the only one.

This topic is extremely interesting. I will be starting a new thread on it soon. I've been studying the fight or flight response in context to social situations. You know what the funny thing is, though? There is absolutely no way around it short of progressive desensitization. Your amyglia (primal response center in the brain) responds a few miliseconds before the signal can even reach your logical brain. There is no possible way to "convince" yourself other than doing it over and over - short of beta blockers (which I won't go into...)
