I'm one of those guys who has to read every article out there before I actually put it into action, and by the time my opportunity comes to use that tip, I've already forgotten what it was that I read. So I've decided to take part in a DJ Boot Camp so I can actually get some experience in the field instead of reading article after article. I've been keeping a journal in my computer, and it's pretty interesting to read the progress I've been making.
Anyway, I'm on week 3 right now, and I've been learning something new every time I go out. Tonight, I came across something that I'm really going to work into my game. I went to my local Target store to approach some women and get some conversations under my belt. I saw this cute girl (probably about 23) over in the candle aisle. I like using opinion openers, so I picked up a candle and asked her what she thought about it. Turned into a short conversation, which was exactly what I was looking for. Turns out, the candle I liked the best was one that she didn't like at all! Go figure.
Well, after saying goodbye, I continued to carry the candle around the store with me. It was really easy for me to approach women and get their input on the candle, and then transition the conversation into something else. I couldn't believe how effortless it was - picking something up in the store and asking women what they thought about it. Just thought I'd share!
