"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Hello friends,

I am in a complex situation and need serious help. I haven't been to this site in years since I found it drove me to superficiality at one point in time, especially when it came to looking at females as an object. But I need real help and came here, because I know yall are the only people that can truly help me. Here's my situation and problem, I know it's long, but please have it in your heart to read, thanks:

2-3 years ago I met this girl, we'll call 'K', in my church's youth group. She became my first 'flame' and the first girl I slept with. We are 2 years apart in age, so she was 15-16 when I was around 17-18. I was always kinda embarrassed by her, since she was younger, quite immature, and pretty much considered not up to my standards. At the time, I was the man, had all the girls attention, and was a popular senior, very secure. She was my longest relationship at the time(about 6 months), and then when her dad found out my age, forbade me to date her, and I didn't get to speak to her for a while. I was heart-broken and with-drawn. She contacted me again a little while afterwards, but it was too late. My heart was broke and I had mentally done given up on her and hated her for reasons I honestly don't know. She tried for the longest of time to keep contacting me and let me give her a chance, but I would always curse her out and scare her away. She would try to find a way to contact me like once every 6 months for the next 2-3 years.

Now after getting out of a two year relationship about 4 months ago, for some reason, I want her back. She is different, I must say. She is much prettier now and has many friends unlike before. She is a senior in high school and has many social ties since being so and is on top of the world(figuratively speaking), while I on the other-hand am starting college late(2 yearsish) and all my friends have moved away, so I don't have the same social ties I used to have, thus making me more insecure in all honesty. The problem in all this now that we are trying to make things work again(since for some reason we still love each other), but she kind of pushes me away and is scared at the same time(IMO). She won't hang out with me and blows me off by not showing up for events we have planned(and failed everytime, 3 times now) and doesn't return many text-messages even if she is the one who initiated conversation first. But I have had some break-through conversations with her, and I can see the "real" her in these times. The real her being: loving, kind, affectionate, and wanting me. I want THAT girl, the real her. But now that she has all these friends(who are partiers) and is very popular and getting attention from decent looking guys, she acts totally different as I noted earlier.

I don't know what to do. I really care about her(obviously) and want to be real about things and try and bring her back to her old self. I don't want to be fake and superficial and try to 'seduce' her the Don Juan way. Like I said, I want the old her, that being exactly the same as she is now, but without being a ***** and actually having a heart. Without her friends(that I don't personally know), she runs to me. But with them, she runs away from me. It's as if they are her security blanket and that she doesn't need me with them, and that she also seems to have ALOT of ****yness and pride with them. To illustrate things even more, her is the most recent example:

On Christmas, we planned on tryin to do something, but she said late in the day she couldn't because of so-and-so reason. So, me and a couple friends went to a pool hall, where we found her. She was with her friends and had obviously blew me the freak off. I told her how I felt about it and that it pissed me off, and she walked away when I said that, because of her pride.

Come on guys, help me out here. I ain't giving up on this ****, so don't bother telling me to. I just need a way out; I don't want to move on. Sorry so long, I just wanted to make sure everyone understood the situation for all that it is, so that yall can truely help me. & yes, I know I'm being a *****, but if that's what I have to be then I will, because I care about this, that damn much. BTW, if this info. is needed, here it is: I am a very-good looking guy(not being ****y) and can woe the ladies if I really want, and am always the alpha-male, but this time it's different(obviously). Anyways, karmas a ***** and I probably deserve what I got, but I have changed now and un-fortunately, so has she. I want her to change back dammit, I know this isn't the real her, because I've seen the real her. Please help guys.

You must realize that she found new pimps now - you are passe! This is the real her - it is what she is and has become - she realizes the marketability of her beauty with other dudes and you should know this. Quit clinging to the past - those days are gone!

This isn't complex. At all.

If you want to continue to let her rub your face into the mud, then fine, man.

Do it.

Mate I've been there, and I can tell you that you will look back on yourself in a years time and think "What a fvcking wanker I was".

You NEED to let it go. This girl is NO LONGER ATTRACTED TO YOU. She now has a higher status than you.

Chances are she's just too nice to tell you to fvck off, but thats what she's thinking.

But you're going to pursue it, and make a fool out of yourself. Thats fine. I'll see you here in 6 months when you've slapped some sense into yourself.

Yeah, I know the truth and I know yall are right, but I had to try and hear it for myself. I was praying that I could find a way out through you guys, but I guess not.

Oh, and thanks aftershock, she has obtained a higher status than me, but how can I overcome that w/o turning into a partier and dropping all my morals? And yes, I am damn stubborn, I know. I am used to learning the hard way.

-edit- when I say 'overcome that', I mean... how can I go beyond her and even higher w/ my status.

The only reason that she has a "higher" status than you is because you want her and she doesn't want you!!! You are the one who put her on the pedestal and thus lowering your position!!

Truth is unfortunely people change over time. Look you even said you changed since you first went out with her. Yeah, unfortunely I can relate to you in way on this. In this past few months the girl I cared for the world over has changed and not just her but me too. I cared more for this girl then anything, and in a way it seems like I've given up 6 months of my life. That's the amount of time s*** has been weird between us and seems like myself was lost during that time figuratively. Now here I am insecure and not sure of what to do. Hardest thing to do was letting go, but it needed to be done. The only way for you too truely be happy is to move on. Might not like what I'm going to say, but that's not the same girl you loved. High school changes people, and it obviously changed her. Sorry to have to tell you that, but you deserve to be treated better. Hope you the best bro.

Glad I could help you. All I got say to you is who comes first in your life? You or her? Do what's best for you.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Some psycho analysis here...I believe she is dishing out the same indifference of what you gave her a few years ago to take revenge on you because of her hurt back then! Do you see the similarities? Sure you do - now you know how it feels not to be wanted by someone that you want!

By being pissed off for her dissing you gives her the satisfaction to know that you feel her rejection!

Leave her alone and save your dignity!

hmmm i might be wrong here but i think u have a LITTLE BIT of a chance left

but its a tuffie u basicly gotta ease up on her... stop talking to her for a little bit then lightly come back to her life
cause right now she has negative feelings toward u.. probably because u made her feel bad before and so she cant trust u .. and trust comes before attraction. and on top of that ur clearly not as attractive as u used to be so she has little incentive to bother with u
basicly try to reset the situtation... erase the negative feelings so there room for u to insert new positive vibes
im not exactly sure how to reset a relationship its, pretty hard the only way iv seen it happen is ppl meeting each other years later after breaking communication but i dont think thats an option for u

but at the same time u gotta bring urself up.. u are a little insecure right now so i whud suggest looking at other women and making new friends or even accomplishing some goals cause if u DO manage to reset the situation ur gonna want to be on top of ur game and ready....

and finally.. none of this can happen unless u relax a little and lower her importance in your life. Takes a cool head to solve hot problems

thats my 2 cents

The more you want something the more it will be elusive. This happened to me once. I once played the ****y-funny-mystery card so well with this 18 year old knockout that she became practically obsessed with me. I didn't treat her very well and when the spring semester ended, I stopped talking to her. Two years go by and I see her out and she looks even better than she did when I was getting with her. So I tried treating her the same exact way (****y mysterious) that I did before but this time nothing worked. I would call her and she wouldn't return my calls, etc.

The last straw was when I invited her out and she said she had to study or whatever. Well, I'm at the club and guess who shows up? So at this time, I took the hint and started hitting on one of her friends.

Now even though the friend was not as hot she was still pretty damn cute. I figured that if I slept with her then the first girl would get jealous and come around. But it didn't happen that way. She ended up dating some deuschebag shaggy haired frat guy.

Moral of the story: You might not get the girl all of the times but it will make you feel a lot better if you bang her friends.

It just happens and its part of your development as a person. The best thing you can do is increase your social circle, become more confident, and bang a few girls (sex is NOT immoral, if thats what you mean, its human nature).

The most important thing is to become less stubborn!

You can be a "partier" and only have two or three pints mate - you just have to be social.

But you should increase your status because YOU WANT TO INCREASE YOUR STATUS, NOT BECAUSE YOU WANT TO BANG THIS GIRL!

(Says Mr "I'm posting this at 5:52AM UK time" haha).

HolyG and AverageJoe5 are also right on the ball.
