So there I was, feeling quite down and discouraged last Saturday night after having shared with most of you about two of the many unfortunate and negative exoeriences I've had in terms of dating here in the U.S. for the most part. From often getting the "I have a boyfriend line" to approaching women at my former university only to find out that they were best friends with other women at my school who I found attractive, had hit on, and actually worked with, to talking to a woman at my gym only to find out that her best-friend once dated my older brother, etc. The list is endless.
Anyway, so I sat there, almost having lost all hope...watching TV in the living room, unable to go out to any lounges or clubs because I no longer have a car, etc. Then suddenly, at 10:51 p.m., this African lady from Tanzania, who was one of my co-workers while a senior in college at my former university, called me. Now, we all know that when a woman calls you at 10:51 p.m. on your cell phone, she definitely means business. My communication with her has been on and off. She has an extremely big ass and several guys at my former university had been trying to talk to her. She basically has been hitting on me indirectly, and because I have been playing hard to get, she seems to have been enjoying the thrill of the chase. I thought she had given up, since it had been almost two months since I heard from her.
In her voice mail, she said I should call her back and that she was just calling to see how I was doing. For the first time, I called her back that same night and we talked and are working to set something up for the near future. She did mention to me that she has a boyfriend, but that hasn't stopped her from wanting to go out with me and I don't even bother bringing up the topic.
Her phone call was important because it rekindled the internal fire of hope in me and I was able to regain the right frame of mind to get back into the dating scene and to go out there and take a chance and talk to strangers once again like I used to do in the past. Now, I focus my thoughts on the women who have told me in the past that they find me attractive and very handsome and good looking. I've decided to honestly care less about any woman who turns me down because it honestly is her loss and not mine. I fill my thoughts with the words of women who have told me: "You are a great catch."
