You are correct. The question becomes " are men monogamous in nature?". I dont believe they are monogamous. They should not be "cheating". They should be allowed to have multiple wives or concubines that they are legally bounded to. This way they are actually covering a woman and taking care of her.

Ancient cultures used to provide structure to the " cheating" so everyone benefited from it.

As far as control goes, the male sex drive is too strong for most men to control fully. It should be channeled into either multiple wives for controlled prostitution.

Polygamy makes society unstable, and yes, dangerous.

I didn’t cheat throughout my 20 year marriage.
The thought of what my kids would think of me was the main reason along with my marriage vows which I took seriously.

It’s a lot harder when you aren’t married/don’t have kids and have many options, especially if you are above average in looks, status and/or wealth. The need for variety in the bedroom is in our DNA.

I think as you get much older, your testosterone levels decline and your energy levels are lower this can also be a handbrake.

Yes you make good points. I am much less sexual compared to my 20s. Its def a testosterone thing. It is also harder because to resist because I do not have kids looking up to me.
