Never seen so much unashamed liberal, feminist, anti white male propaganda. Most of the characters were either women or ethnic minorities and the few white males that appeared were all portrayed negatively cos white men are evil obviously.
All the women were of course strong and independent and Sandra Bullock's romantic interest was of course a heroic black man, cos you musnt forget to include interracial relationships.
Oh there was one white man right at the end who wasn't a homicidal lunatic or an arsehole.
He was disabled.

As with much else, you have to commend their marketing teams. They really know what they need to do to get marks like you talking and watching.

I liked the movie and didn’t notice the racial thing. The only thought of the sort I had was that Sandra Bullock never would have made it down that river with her and the two kids without help from a man in real life. If the physical element of it didn’t get the best of her, the mental one would have. Good thing for women they can be strong heros in movies. Go Hollywood! Girl power!

Netflix is ground zero of hollyweird programming and the liberal cuck fantasies of destroying the West.

Still HBO is awful too, that was total libporn when the brown horde led by Daneys destroyed the Lannister (blonde) armies of "West"eros.
I don't think the battle between the two was supposed to reflect minorities besting whites. It was built up with the danger of the dothraki in open fields. Not to mention she also had a dragon blasting westeros troops.

I won't argue that Netflix doesn't have a racial and gender bias. It sounds like Birdbox has an agenda where the good guys are minorities, the bad guys are white men, and women don't need men unlike the real world.

I wasn't planning to watch Birdbox in the first place and now I'm against it.

I've noticed that on shows like The Walking Dead, it seems like nearly every relationship is either LGBTQ or interracial. Mind you, I have no problem with interracial marriages, but it stands out like a sore thumb when two heterosexuals of the same race hooking up is a big exception. Normally, the more people have in common, the more likely they are to get together. It's just such an obvious political agenda.

I saw the Bird Box movie (girlfriend wanted to watch it). I haven't read the book it was based on, but I read afterwards that they added in the relationship between Bullock and the black gentleman. Supposedly he did not survive the battle with Gary, and she was left to raise the kids alone. Which better explains why she was so tough on them.

I noticed this too with Black Mirror. Funny bc it's a show that portends a ghastly near future.

I like netflix only when it gets series from other producers and their content about narcos in which of course they cant put leftist propaganda.

When it comes of series with female lead characters or too many minorities I know its a political series so I dont even bother.

I have nothing against a tv series set in africa or asia with no white at all, thats the point of being accurate...its the political propaganda that I cant stand especially when its fueled with drama.

Same thing with black mirror, its like non stop brain washing about women being cool and clever and guys dumb and weak even when they belong to the good guys.

It seems like they want to alienate men (whites especially) so much to turn them mgtow even when picking a movie.

I knew it was going to be **** and only watched it because girlfriend reccomended it and wanted to see just how bad her taste in movies was; seeing as most women have appalling taste in movies. I wasn't disappointed.
I pointed out the fact that there were no positive white male characters in it to my daughter who was watching it with me and she said "Oh yeah!". Hopefully my daughter who has abandoned most of her friends at school now because they all describe themselves as transgender or bi (at 12 years old!) will be immune to this programming. She's doing a good job so far and im proud of her.

I haven't watched it yet but I plan to. So far I've seen two theories.

One is the "monsters" represent social media. You see it and it makes you want to kill yourself.

Another one is it represents racism, and whites specifically don't want to notice it.

I believe that the monster is the modern woman, and when you see one you slowly commit suicide by wanting to marry her.

Not sure if that's what they were going for, though.

I watched one comedian (not famous black guy, lots of anti trump jokes), not funny at all, and the audience reminded me of an infomerical audience, trying hard to pretend to have a good time.

Audience was way smaller than any comedy show audience I've seen. Stage was in the center, plenty of quick camera shots to try and make it seem much bigger than it was.

Strangest, fakest thing I've ever seen.

I just saw Birdbox and I have to say it was enjoyable but it's clear all the bad guys were white and the male lead was a black guy. Standalone it wouldn't be too bad, but these days Hollywood is slowly eliminating the white male. I'm worried what it'll be like in 20 years.

Birdbox could've been much worse so I'll call it a passable movie and worth watching.

Triggered snowflakes. What are you going to say next that Annihilation was a bad movie because of one 30 second scene with Natalie Portman in bed together with a Black man cheating on Oscar Isaacs? Art is art, get over it.

Sounds like you're the triggered one at people noticing the "programming".
Nah, there are plenty of Netflix TV-shows and movies. Don't see what the fuss is about. It's not even nominated for Golden Globes or the Academy Awards. You are triggered if you make a fuss about a random B movie that has one old A-list actress on it to hype it up on Netflix like that and then make up a conspiracy theory on it.

I recommend picking and choosing your Netflix options if you are easily triggered.

Here's a more suitable scene from a more suitable series:

Might as well get used to diversity in movies because it isn't going anywhere. Movies make money all over the world now, so producers put more varied races and locals into their films. This isn't a bad thing, necessarily, because people who might have been disenfranchised in the past now get to see people like themselves up on the screen. Minorities get to relate to characters on the screen, whereas in the past they might not have had the opportunity.

It only begins to irritate when it becomes obvious that it is being done to send a political message, or to "preach" to us (because Hollywood considers us unenlightened). That's when it starts to appear forced and unnatural. There was a recent episode of Adam Ruins Everything about sitcoms, and they had a parody sitcom about a family which consisted of a white father, a Latino mother, an Asian child, and a Black child. The sitcom was called "One of Each". Pretty funny when you think about it.

I never saw it, heard of it, or commented on it.

YOU are the one who brought up this movie.

So how am I the triggered one?

Use your brain.
What are you talking about? I didn't start this thread about bird-box.

I don't think so. I would agree for films like Dunkirk, you are not going to replace British white soldiers with Black soldiers leaving or put Black captains there if you know what the historical account is. Otherwise, I don't see the big deal as to why people are hyper-triggered.

Nobody says anything about "Breaking Bad"? That's a white Netflix show that is more anti-white than anything I have ever seen and there are mainly white people acting. Portrays whites as a bunch of meth addicted druggies. However, for a movie like bird-box people go crazy on this thread because you have some Black actors in the movie and claim a B-movie is preaching an agenda is as crazy as knocking Will Smith for Independence Day or Men in Black as being anti-white.

You have to be careful which side you are on because in the Trump-era here anyone can misinterpret your views and twist them into something stupid. People are delusional about their white genocide conspiracy and getting worried every time they see a Black actor or actress on film that has more than a token role when in reality the Academy Awards has been accused of snubbing good Black movies, not the other way around.

Neither did I. Recognizing patterns and communicating it is normal.

Getting angry that someone recognizes the pattern, that's triggered.
So what is your point? Calling out nonsense is not being angry. It sounds like the other posters were angry there was Black actors in the movie.

I did say that it is a good thing that minorities are able to see and identify with more characters on the screen. But it IS noticeable and distracting when they try to shoehorn diversity into a story in a way that seems to send a political message. Like if there is a wide variety of characters, but EVERY relationship on the show is either interracial or LGBTQ, that isn't an accident. I can't help but feel like I'm being preached to in those situations, sort of like watching the Gillette ad.
