And if you are in the top 5% of the socioeconomic pecking order (income > $500K/year, net worth > $3M), you only have to worry about gold diggers if you're stupid and beta enough to actually marry one. They really are not hard to spot -- especially if you're in an LTR with one.
Point well taken. However, your numbers are way off. $500K per year is in the top 1% of USA earners. Top 5% would be closer to $150K. Also, these figures include everyone such as men that are already married. Social media thot culture has exaggerated the wealth and lifestyle of typical Americans.

I have 2 cars , a little tidy 20 year old vauxhall, that is brilliantly reliable, and I use for doing small tasks. My other car is a BMW M3

whenever I'm in the Vauxhall people presume my business has closed and things are going terrible, Ive turned up to a few dates in it. and the aura from women and society is totally different to when i drive round in the M3.

my point being the whole of society is gold diggers so to speak, including men. I know a couple of young men, and if they see someone who owns an AMG mercedes, they behave like they've met a Demi-god. even if the person is the biggest arsehole know to man.
Damn, you guys must be pretty poor in the UK if an "AMG Mercedes" gets you demi-god treatment.

Advice from the old lady:

Your presentation is key here. The short answer is no. Why hide who you are?

Wealthy people behave, associate and do things that less well off people do not do and/or cannot do. They have things less affluent people cannot afford, whether those are material things or the freedom of time that wealth can purchase. How it presents depends on an individual’s value system.

Do you prefer to live at the Ritz Carlton Beverly Hills or do you prefer to climb K2 and Mt. Everest. Those are the choices money can buy you. How it presents depends on who you are.

Now. I would not advocate ostentatiously vulgar display of wealth, although I’ve seen men do that. I mean why purchase a 2K bottle of wine at dinner for no particular occasion when a $200 bottle is fine…I’ve had a man try and do that to impress me and I simply told him nicely that I’m more impressed with him respecting his financial wherewithal rather than showing off like that. He acquiesced but this was a man who enjoyed taking a woman shopping for example and buying her nice things. Some men are like that. This guy is a retired pro hockey player from Canada who has a home in US…and he is a ruggedly handsome successful millionaire after he left the league. So not a slouch and is plenty game aware.

He likes to spoil his girl.

He likes how HE feels spoiling his girl. He likes to afford the best of things. People follow what feels good, whatever that is.

So nothing wrong with display of some wealth where appropriate. What you never want to do is look like a penny pincher or a cheapskate in a wealthy environment. That puts people off because it is incongruent. Doesn’t matter if you are virtue signaling or whatever else.

People who really understand the unspoken vernacular of wealth would never have the question posed by the OP either. It’s something best absorbed going about your life although it can be learned. It does require appropriate calibration though so one presents in a way that “fits” the environment or the landscape one finds himself in.

It's probably good if you think she may be a gold digger to test her early on by pretending to be broke or cheap or something.
I think that if a girl is a gold digger, that is going to reveal itself pretty early on anyway, so it's not something I'm particularly concerndd about. Besides which, I'm not one to talk about my finances anyway, so how much money I have is not a topic of discussion that I indulge in.

I don't buy fancy cars even though I can afford it because it's a waste of money. I work too much and too hard to waste it on frivolous things.

I'm not going to change just cause females might want me to. That's beta as fvck if you ask me.
for a guy that works hard and is a self proclaimed rich dude , you really have a lot of time to troll threads with anything useful at all .

Just trolling posters who actually have some good things to say , or at least strive to do this based On everyones knowledge and experiences

I also have a lot of time to travel the world. What's your point?

I've never even heard of you before this interaction.

I've never "trolled" anyone... Maybe called out BS though.

Warren Buffett is a penny pincher. Nothing wrong with that.

People who work hard and work every day don't want to waste it on nonsense.

And I believe it is extremely "beta" and approval-seeking to spend money just to improve outward appearance, and especially just for females.

Edit: It also speaks volumes about females personalities that this is what they look for. Why even invite such parasites around you to begin with?

I would rather walk around acting like a bum even if I had millions of dollars in assets. I'm not claiming this will attract females. I'm just saying it's what feels good to me. I just wear flip flops and sometimes even khakis with paint stains on them.

If I wanted to use money to attract females, I would go to the red-light district. You can buy a lot of attractive escorts for the price of one Porsche.

True about Buffett. He also owns a private airliner jet called The Indefensible as a tongue in cheek way of acknowledging the unjustifiable expense of his jet and its staff.

That is NOT penny pinching. He is well known for his humility and pragmatic ways in other areas financially. He is also not into luxury flashiness and has been married for decades.

So he has no need whatsoever to impress women (nor anyone else for that matter.)

Funny thing is the ego that comes with serious wealth in many of not most cases. Billionaires one upping one another in a kind of King of the Moumtain competition. Some are more prone to it than others…but make no mistake they all pay attention to the Wealthiest lists and the Robb Report. They are competitive by nature.

My friend who likes to spoil women is a lifelong bachelor who has had plenty of hot women. He does it because

A. It pleases him to do it

and

B. Money is no object

His choices reflect his value system. There is nothing “beta” about the man. Nothing at all.

A lot of them are also very philanthropic just out of kindness and expecting nothing in return. They know that they have the ability to change the world. Such as all the good that The Gates Foundation has done in impoverished areas.

And his thanks is that he is declared Pubic Enemy #1 by a bunch of wackos with 2 brain cells.

Agree. Some of the super wealthy feel the money is rather obscene after a while. And they derive pleasure from their charitable efforts. That is what feels good to them.

I'm not rich but doing very well for my age. A chick came over once and after seeing my flat the condom was suddenly optional.

Most beautiful women are going to want someone who is at least moderately successful and financially set. "Rich" is a bit subjective, but if you mean should you let the women you are seeing know you are successful, my answer is yes. It will get you laid more often. Women are attracted to men who are financially and socially connected. This doesn't mean to flaunt it in their face, but you can certainly "show" rather than "tell" them you are one of these movers and shakers.

Women aren't necessarily turned on by the money itself; they are turned on by the fact that if you have money, it likely means you have the qualities that every female wants in the man (leader, smart, financially savvy, etc.).

Although its an expensive car, I think its more to do with the fact, we sub consciously note the person can afford to put petrol in it.

Petrol & things are so expensive in the UK, drug addicts rob big blocks of cheese to sell on, theres literally a market for stolen cheese.
