Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

she wasn't really playing them if it was just casual dating, which is what it was implied to be
I suppose, still weird behavior in my opinion.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

How come it took him telling you that for you to realize it was wrong to be playing two men at the same time?
Women with options date more than one man at a time just like men with options date more than one woman at a time. It's how you decide who you like best and are more compatible with as you get to know people. If you are not exclusive then it is wise to assume everybody is dating more than one person (assuming we are talking about attractive desirable people.)

At any rate your comment seems to miss the point of my story about my ex husband. He didn't tell me what to do at all. Instead he did something better. He said "Do as you please." but he also made clear that if I was going to see someone else that he was going to remove himself as an option for me.

That left me a choice. Did I want to risk not seeing him to see the other guy? Not really. I wanted more to see where things went with him.

You also realize that was HIM wanting/maneuvering for exclusivity with me, not me asking him for exclusivity like everyone here promotes.

But he did it from a high value position and a take or leave attitude that he showed me, when in reality he very much wanted me. That's great game.
