Serious topic: My best friend's dad has cancer

I just found out today that my best friend's dad has little hope to live. What do I say next time I see my friend? Should i keep quiet and let him bring it up or should I say something? I'm kind of at a loss right now.

How did you find out his father has cancer? Would your friend be angry if he finds out that so and so told you? If you think he will be angry, then don't tell hime. Alternatively, you can say: " Hey Joy, how is the family doing?" He'll say fine.... if he wan't you to know of his father's health conditions, I'm sure he'll tell you in a heart bit...

My mother had cancer and I didn't bring it up with anybody. I think I told only two or three of my friends, and to this day almost none of them know about it.

tell him you love him (it's okay) and that you're there for him, and that if there's anything at all you can do for him he should let you know.
