Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

I'm a senior, recently there's been a rumor that a cute sophomore likes me so I put on my DJ face and asked her to lunch this Sunday.

She said yes. (Though I didn't confirm the location/time exactly yet)

We know almost nothing of each other so its pretty much a blind date. She seems to be one of the more passive kind.

Any tips on what kind of place to eat? What to do after?

General tips would be appreciated too.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Atta boy! Way to hop on an opportunity! Stay away from the boring movie and dinner date. You're going to be forced to work too hard to push away the awkwardness. I say pick some type of activity where you guys are doing something physical. Something at the park, skating rink, museum, something like that. And when you get there, just act as you've been dating a long time. Take her arm and put it through yours, especially when you're crossing the street and say something like "Let me stop traffic. A lady is crossing." Pretty much little things that assume that you're already dating. Hope it helps and good luck!

Get something to eat close to her house or school. Walk her to the bus or if you can walk her home.

Ask her if she has a dog. She'll say either yes, no, or why?

Say because you thought u heard something in the bushes (and point to some random bushes behind or infront of her to get her to look away. Lean in for a kiss on the cheek.

GL and props.

Thanks for the replies.

I settled a time and place with her. I decided on a nice (just slightly above average) casual place on a popular pedestrian street.

Apparently she's also very shy... which made her response even more surprising. Is there an article on how to deal with shy girls? (I'm actually kinda shy too)

Shy just means unwilling to express oneself. This leads to awkward silences where one or both of you have something to say but don't say it, then start thinking about how weird it is that you aren't talking.

If you can tell something is on her mind, encourage her to express it. If there is an awkward silence, smile broadly and look in her eyes. Be open, smile and let positivity deliver good circumstances into your lap.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
