"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Ok, so I met this girl, got really close to her, and found she has a long-distance boyfriend going on who wont be in the area for a few years. Sounds like me when I used to be AFC and have cyber-relationships :D .

So, what should I do? I feel like an ******* if I move in for a relationship with her because the same happened to me when I was AFC.

Any tips on how move out of the 'understanding of the painful long-distance relationship' friend area and into a more interested in dating area. She already said she would have dated me if she wasnt in a relationship.

Just all the time im thinking of this I feel like such an ******* cause this happened to me. Oh well, what goes around comes around.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Are you kidding? He won't be around for a few YEARS??!! Definitely go in for it. It would be one thing if you guys were in your twenties and her boyfriend of 4 years was off in Iraq, but in this situation there's no reason the relationship between her and that guy should still be going on.

Look out for yourself. What if some total AFC dude got with her cuz you didn't?

I couldn't deal with that sh*t, ever. Go for it. Make yourself fulfilled.

I agree with the other guys. There's no reason as to she would still be with a guy who won't be back for another 4 years. If she's still stuck on this guy, however, I'd move to another girl.

i seriously can't get the meaning of long distance relationships. i've been with my girlfriend for over 1 year now, but in 2006, i'll have to move to another city (wich is less than 90 minutes away, not very distant)... well, i'm sure i'll break up with her... let alone if i were to stay distant from her for years...
