I never even heard of this until a few nights ago. Saw something on Tom cruise and Katie holmes Anyways was curious what the big deal was so i googled it. I cant find an answer to what the religion is really about. It seems even scientologists dont know what scientology is. Even their description is all mumo jumbo. Can anyone give me a brief explanation of this? I know its a religion or cult or something o the sort but thats about all i know.

There's a reason why you can't find out more about scientology. Cults use this tactic. They dont get specific as to suck you in. You are fed deception in small bites as to brainwash. If they were to tell you the bare truth about what they are, you'd never be interested.
Just like the MLM cults like quixtar. They'll NEVER be specific about the company until you are usually in one of their homes. They'll tell you about a "business opp" they have. But will refuse to get specific. Calling it by WHAT it is an "MLM" or even its own name "quixtar/amway" is taboo. They'll say its not a pyramid scheme yet be drawing one to illustrate it.

I'm not into this cult, but it seems like everyone who joins the church of scienctology have golden lives. Its like they can't have enough good fortune; good health, wealth, constant good happenings, etc.

I got more interested when i found out Beck (someone who i really admire & respect) is also a Scientologist. I don't mean that i want to be part of it or anything, just wondering what it is exactly.

I don't know about all cults, but if you go to your local tiny library you can get a Scientology book where they explain what they do with tons of specifics. I actually did.
Interesting - I met a couple of quixtar guys who got very specifci of what they do fairly quickly: find people and sell them garbage no one need. They just dont emphasize how hard it is to find anyone interested in that junk - but they dont hide it: if you make it for a second meeting with them - they'll tell you everything.
Guys, has anyone seen, talked to an alive scientologist? What are your impressions about benefits of scientology?
I drove a couple of time by a scientology center and was tempted to stop, get in and figure them out...

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Well great if you found a book on scientology. I'm saying look at their website. There's a reason why they are so evasive about giving any more than vague answers.
As for quixtar, they'll lure you to meet with them under the guise of "biz opportunity". THEN they'll start to tell you about the opportunity, being very brief in the strategy of getting you to check out one of their meetings. They are vague no matter which way you cut it. No one can correctly explain how the system/payouts works because its made extremely complex. I remember listening to the guys in it that had to keep asking their uplines how things work because they could barely describe it.
They in no way divulge their whole system. In fact you can't get proper information on their system. Just a cheesy booklet and their catalogue. Any good businessperson knows you make business decisions off of formal business plans, financial projections 1,2,5 years out, success statistics, profit/loss analysis, past analysis and so on.
That's why an average joe or someone without much business knowledge can fall for it. Scietology plays on self worth and feeling part of something, some cults play off greed, love etc.

The Church of Scientology is scary. They've stolen stuff from the IRS. They sanction any attack (verbal or physical, even to the point of fatal) on "enemies of the church." If you criticize them loudly enough, they will investigate you, as they feel that anyone who attacks them is a criminal. If they can't find anything, its their official policy to make something up.
