Saying "Haha" or "Lol" In every Single Message

I'm sure you guys have experienced this before. When texting/messaging a girl, sometimes you have girls that say hahaha or lol before or after nearly every message they send you. Now given, i have a really great sense of humor, and sometimes I am hilarious. but sometimes there is no reason why they should be saying this.

So what does it mean? I realize that it completely depends on the circumstance and the girl. But can this be taken as an IOI? In my experience it can be. At the very least you are entertaining her and you've got her curious about you.

However, it could mean any number of things:

a) She's nervous
b) You actually did tell a good joke
c) Blantant IOI, she's just doing it cause she likes you, regardless of your humor
d) She's patronizing you, basically laughing at you
e) She's boring, can't carry a convo without a dozen "lol"s thrown in

lol these days usually means 'not entirely funny but i'm gonna laugh so as not to make you look bad' which is good cos it means she cares enough to do so.

hahaha used to mean she actually found you funny but these days it could mean the same as above.

when a girl really finds you funny she will say 'actual lol'.

Personally, when I was younger I had a lot of problem with emotions. Due to emotional abuse, there was a period of time where I talked in monotone and literally felt zero emotion when it came to social situations. To pretend to be as normal as possible, I would say 'lol' or 'haha' after almost everything I said to make sure that what I was saying to the person wasn't taken too seriously or offensively, since I couldn't really guess how they would take it, due to having no emotion.

Now, that's become a bit of a habit when texting. Some people ask me why I do it and I tell them it's so that they know when I'm joking, and so that when I stop doing it, they can tell I'm serious. I doubt many girls do this for the same reason, but I guess the moral of the story is, there could be a million different reasons why a person would do something like that.

For most girls, it's probably just a habit. Just like some girls habitually put a at the end of messages, but don't mean it in a flirty way.

Yea i feel you. I've had a couple girls using after almost every message. While i do feel this is habit, i do think it conveys very high interest, seeing as how these girls did indeed have very high interest.

I think it's all about context. It's like reading tells in poker or body language. There's no catch-all rules...everything must be taken in comparison to a person's usual habits.

I think its E). + most the girls throw this in there out of habit.

Other times its to ensure the playful manner.

or

"Fvck you, you assh0le! Lol"

But most times the "lol" is ultra unnecessary

Ex) Her: Hey, what're you doing? lol
Me: The hardest task I ever been faced with.
Her: What's that? lol

Both of those "lols" were un-fvcking-necessary. Maybe the 2nd was prompted, but what the fvck is so funny about asking me what I'm upto? LOL

As for an IoI, its too tough to tell. it could be C. or it could just be the "I end all my texts with 'lol'" habit.

As for D. I highly doubt that, haha.

And "actual lol"? Nobody says that, haha, and the Guy who had that said to him, please smack her for her saying something so dumb. lol means Laugh out Loud. there's no silent letter f. its not fake (fake laugh out loud). That's silly. FLOL

Op I think its just a habit of modern female texters. Often times b1tches be putting "lol" when ain't sh1t funny. Usually when I actually did say something funny, said chick will stray from habitland and put "Lmao" to which I'd pat myself on the back & treat myself to chocolate.

As I speak I just gotta text reading:

"Hey, Michael seriously made me really mad. lol"

Apparently, to her, the fact Michael pissed her off is rather hilarious.

Anyway, OP, generally it means high interest. They get giggly and hang off your words. It tends to get annoying sometimes though when that's all they do, instead of contributing something of their own to the text convo.
