Hey guys,
I've been in Montreal for two days. So far I have had nothing but positive experiences here. The city is cool, people have been friendly (even though I don't speak French well) and I have had got makeouts both nights that I went out.
However tonight I ran into one incredibly rude set of girls. I don't know exactly what was going on but I was standing near three ok (but nothing special) looking girls who were trying to get their friend to drink something. I offered my drink, saying, 'Try this' and I got the most rude response imaginable. They were like, 'WHO are you?!!!'. Then I think one of them said, 'Are you here alone?!!!'. I said, 'Yeah, I am, just arrived in Montreal.' I did call those girls out, saying, 'Why do you have to be so rude, I was only being friendly?' One of the girls pushed me, as if to say 'Keep your distance.' Honestly I wasn't far from knocking her out, but good sense prevailed and I didn't.
I have NEVER encountered a reaction like from these b**ches. I have to say it knocked me sideways, but I got talking to other people, who were even younger than these girls (I'm 36 but look younger) and they were totally friendly. It's not that I'm so upset, it's more like I don't want to deal with that kind of rudeness again. Has it happened to you guys? And if so how do you deal with it without being angry/pissed off? Just brush it off? Seriously, if people were like this, just not wanting to talk to any 'random' guy, I wouldn't even bother going out. I often fly solo and love it but obviously these girls thought I was totally creepy for being alone - I never had that reaction before.
I guess I would just appreciate some of you saying this is normal, it happens and I shouldn't let me put it off my game.
