This is a massive breakthrough...in Type 1 diabetes, the insulin producing cells are destroyed by the immune system mistakenly, usually while still young(under 18), and the person is required to take insulin for the rest of their life because their body doesn't produce it anymore.

This can cause serious issues if you mistime the doses or give too much/too little.

This is a near miracle level breakthrough that basically "cures" it within 48 hours so insulin pumps are no longer necessary and the body goes back to producing insulin in response to glucose levels by "re-programming" other cells in the pancreas to take over insulin control via the same manner as the normal beta cells do.

Hi BackInTheGame,
And how long before Big Pharma finds a way to protect us all by
sidelining this amazing breakthrough?

The big money is in Type II Diabetes, this won't solve that issue. Type II means your body still produces insulin, your cells just stop listening to it.

Type I is an autoimmune condition where your cells that produce insulin are permanently destroyed and you can no longer produce insulin at all. This is what this drug helps with.
