I'll keep this story to the bare facts, and yes, all true and accurate:

I have a good job in a large research setting. I'm 25. I'm the youngest in my department by reasonable gap - most are 30s and 40s - and somewhat circumstantially I work with mainly women. There are two attractive, smart, cool, single women in their early 30s who I have lunch with nearly every day. We became friends in relatively short order, and one of them - let's say Rachel - invites myself and the other over to her place some weeknight to hang out.

Ok.

Rachel is definitely pretty cute. At the time I also felt like she had some personality incongruencies that would keep me from being fully attracted to her. Anyway, we had been drinking wine, the other woman had left, and Rachel who was sorta tipsy made a lunge for my face to try and make out with me. I dodged her lips. I was pretty sober and I didn't want the first time we kissed to be when she was drunker than I was. She made a second attempt to make out with me while we were sitting next to one another. It took self discipline but I turned her down both times.

I knew I would eventually fvck her if ever we both got kinda drunk together. Of course, that happened. Then she wanted a fvckbuddy relationship, and I was more than happy to oblige her. We had a short talk about whether we each thought it would work out ok, and we agreed that we could keep it strictly sexual.

For a while we were about once a week, basically whenever I initiated. After a month or two of that not-so-frequent pace she called me out and told me that I needed to fvck her much more frequently, like 4 times a week or something. I was kinda flattered and tried to give her what she wanted.

After maybe four months of fvcking... I realized I had real feelings for this woman. She's attractive. Good in bed. Also very smart, very ambitious, and super funny. One obvious problem is that she's older. Not that I mind that she's older at all, in fact the last few women have all been, but she's definitely looking for a guy that she can marry and settle down with and have kids and all that stuff in the not-to-distant future. The last man she had been in a relationship with was ~40 and somebody that she had been envisioning marriage with. I am not close to marriage. That is non-negotiable.

Just as I'm planning to tell her that I have feelings for her - although, that she should not construe that as meaning that I want to BE WITH her - she preempts me by announcing that she "Loves" me, and that for that reason she thinks we should stop fvcking, since as long as we're doing it, she won't be able to move on with her life. Fair enough. I agree with her that considering her feelings that the sex should end.

We continue to have lunch virtually every day. We're good friends now, and I also continue to go over - alone - to her house in the evenings and drink wine with her in our pajamas SEVERAL nights a week usually. The sexual tension is incredibly thick. I know that on some level she loves me, and I definitely have feelings for her as well. We have been going on - sexless - like this for several months. Drinking wine while lounging at each other's homes late at night. Giving each other unusually long and unusually tight hugs goodnight.

I can rely on her to drunk text me at night if I'm not with her. One night I got out of the shower at about 1am to notice that I had four missed calls from her, each separated by about 2 minutes. This sort of behavior isn't something you get from a woman who is not very seriously into you.

So I don't know what to do.

I really like this woman. Do I see myself with her forever? No. Do I want to be with her for RIGHT NOW? Kind of, yea. We managed to fvck each other for a while, stop, and for things to still be totally cool and non-awkward. I think that now, if I were to make a move on her sometime when we were both drunk and hanging out with each other, the sex would have a lot more meaning then it did in the past. Her actions are kinda telling me that she wants this to happen...

**gaaahhh...**

Erm, who enters a relationship with the intention of marriage, 2.4 children and a big, big house in country? You're making a mountain out of a mole hill. Your situation is simple, you're both into each other in a big way, the sex is good and you enjoy being around each other. Just get with her man and if it lasts, it lasts and if it doesn't then it doesn't, just follow your gut and live for the moment.

And the sad thing is your older than me...

Look, i don't know what the hell could happen, but honestly, read what you wrote, read it again and again and give me a reason why you shouldn't be with this lady.

Your afraid of her wanting to settle down...Okay, so what if she wants to. Listen she is not gonna want to get married and have kids right now, she is gonna want that eventually but not now. What you need to do is get this relationship rolling, see where it goes and remember the situation is never to bad for you to leave. Besides, if you guys hit it off your point of view might change on the child thing(im just saying, it happens.)

Never pass up a good thing.

Honorable; but completely stupid! For future reference: Women do not do things when they are drunk that they don't want to do. They do things when they are drunk that they wouldn't do if they were sober.

A sober woman has a filter that all of her actions go through. A drunk woman - is basically unfiltered. Reacts of impulse.

This woman has a crush on you and the alcohol allowed her to show it. I'm unsure why you cared about you being sober and her being drunk; but anyway....

You did make yourself more of a challenge by doing that. Which is a positive that came out of it.

She wanted that? Happy to oblige her? And you're always going over her house? And she made the first move for kiss?

When do you lead bro? To me - she's setting the frame of the relationship as she wishes.

She surely is "in love" with your c@ck.

But once again - she's making the demand and you're meeting it.

This is not good for the future (you won't be able to see that now - but this woman is leading every step of the way).

I also want to take a second to tell you that anytime i've been in a "sexual" relationship with a woman where we only had sex a 1-2 times a week - they at some point ALWAYS request more. This request is stronger the more into me she is. Do you know what? I don't believe it has anything to do with them desiring more sex from me. I think it has everything to do with them seeing me as a challenge and saying "if i can have him fvck me more - he'll surely fall in love and quit being such a challenge." .... And biology has proven that this is true.... The more you fvck someone - the more you become bonded to them.

As much as woman love orgasms - they love having power over men even more.

This is what happens when you begin to fvck a woman a lot. You "fall" for her.

I somehow believe this woman could convince you of it, just by requesting it... :flowers:

Wow! This is BS! This is a hardcore manipulation attempt by her to "lock you down." Complete Bullsh!t...

And you called her on it! Nice! I doubt you meant to - but that's pretty much the same way i would have handled it. You're calling her bluff! And i assure you - it is a bluff.

Whatttttt? WTF man? Are you joking? You've been spending virtually every night over this broads house and not fvcking her? I'm baffled.... Really....

Quit being such a gentleman! This woman wants to fvck you!

The way you're handling this is so bad though man. You either fvck her or don't spend so much d@mn time with her, and make her beg to get back into your life. I guarentee you that if you stop coming around her - and start meeting other women - she will be BEGGING you to fvck her; she will be crying for you too! Fvcking tears man! Real emotion! .... You're giving her yourself without the $ex... That is weak on so many levels.

Fvck her or get out of her life until she begs you to fvck her! Period... You're not her fvcking girlfriend!

Stop it! Quit being her boyfriend! You're not!

It's behavior you'd get from a woman who is very afraid you're going to leave her once you find someone else who WILL give you sex.

If? Just do it! And it will be a lot more emotional. Take advantage of that - talk emotionally to her during sex if you want.... She'll be cuming all over the place with every word that comes out of your mouth!

You are right! And it won't be that easy; she'll give you resistence, and once you do have sex with her again - she'll continue to push the fact that she "loves" you and try to get you to lead her into a direction.... But you won't... You'll sit there and wait for her to make all the decisions.... Until another man pops into her life who can lead her properly; and then you'll be on here crying about how you miss her and wondering what went wrong.

the flip side of that (if you do have sex with her) is - She'll consider you having sex with her as you understanding that that means that she has some right to push you for a relationship. This is because you are letting her frame the relationship every step of the way! (well except for the time you wouldn't kiss her)

---

The reality is though: You seem to be spending every waking hour with this woman. You're already her boyfriend. Might as well make it official.

So she can lose interest in you. :p

You see this is the problem of having multiple relationships or in other words fornication outside marriage. You start having feelings for that person then you start second guessing yourself in who do you want to spend your life with.

When you have sexual relations with someone with no commitment, your basically writing that person off the marriage list because if she has sex with you outside of marriage what makes you think that she won't run around your back and have sex with anyone else.

You could be the 11th person shes had sex with or the 122nd person, to her your just a number in her list of buddies.

A purely sexual relationship is not what you want your marriage to start with and at the end your kids will suffer for it.

Sincerely, thanks to everyone who took the time to respond.

To the general comments that I'm over-thinking or hypothesizing about what she might want from me down the line when I ought to be more concerned with my desires and happiness in the present... I think that's a valid point.

EA: What? You seem to think I said that I don't want Rachel because I'm worried about her fidelity of the number of dudes she's been with in the past. I'm not worried and I don't care. Plus, I hate to tell you this, but your argument makes no rational sense.

Bukowski: A serious Thanks for the deep breakdown. Your point that I haven't lead at any point in this whole process is something that hadn't occurred to me, although you're totally right. I had a bit of an epiphany when I read that. I thought to other instances of my game and kind of found myself "letting things come to me" instead of "going for what I want" or "leading." You're right that at no point in this relationship did I come to a decision by myself that I wanted things to go a certain way and acted on that decision. I kinda let her control everything... all the while wondering to myself if I actually wanted to be with her, never quite making up my mind.

Thinking to the last few times I've gone out to bars with friends, each time I sorta hung around chatting with my group and looking happy, smiling, not approaching, until some women would approach me and make the effort for me. This is a $hitty habbit.

Maybe I mischaracterized the sort of relationship Rachel and I have right now, because I'm certainly not at her place every night - far from it. But I think your point still stands.

At this point, I'm getting sex from other women, a point I left out in the original post. Not women I like particularly when it comes to their personality and the whole package, but women who are attractive enough and good enough for fulfilling the physical. I get the emotional and date-like activities from Rachel. Between a bunch of women I have one full relationship.

...it would be nice though if I could consolidate and get it all from one woman.
