I get alot of compliments from women. Especially about my hair, and my shoes. Usually, when I get compliments I say thanks and then continue with a conversation. I was wondering if there are any better responses to compliments?

If you get an unsolicitied compliment from a woman, it's a good sign. She's trying to show some interest, if somewhat discreetly.
I usually always begin with "thank you..." and then lead in from there.
You could go many places from there. Bust on her for 'hitting on you so obviously' (and watch her blush).
The possibilities are limitless. If she compliments something like your shirt, just lead it into something like 'the fabric feels nice too, here, try' and have her touch it.
If she compliments YOU first, you don't need to exhibit a whole lot of tact in leading the next part of the conversation. She's shown that she's interested, so you need to show your interest in return - but there is very little risk of rejection.

Yeah, if you are explicit by saying that, you shot yourself in the foot. If you say something like, "Don't think complimenting me is going to get me to sleep with you" That implies her to try harder and it is already assumed she wants you.
