Rate the Tips !!

I wonder if you could make it mandatory to rate a tip if you open it? You could also have negative ratings as one suggested. Instead of stars maybe X's or something.

This would prevent what Pook says will happen and what is actually happening. A bunch of 5 star posts and then the rest have no stars.

So you could have 5 positive ratings, 5 neg ratings and then a vote for no rating if the tip just isn't useful to you.

I guess it would force people to actually think. Sometimes I wonder if people care to bother.

Why bother rating something a 2 or a 3 or something in between? If a post has no rating, then you know that either it is 'young' or nobody thought it was that groundbreaking.

Either a post is good, controversial, hackneyed, or stupid. The good ones get 5 stars, controversial ones or hackneyed ones may get 4 or so, and everything else just has nothing.

I think it is good that someone can hop on the forum, select "sort by rating from the beginning" and get the posts that people consider to be helpful.

After 5 or 4 or so, that shows the post was probably not well liked. What is the difference between say a 3 or a 1?

Maybe there should just be a Star for good posts and an X for bad ones.
