Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

alright... i posted something last night about my situation dont know who read it. but i totally ****ed up with this girl. ****ing did everything wrong. and i know it. but she keeps giving me chances cause i know she wants me. so i told her i had to move on cause she wouldnt commit to anything. now of course sincei pushed her away shes ****in hot on my ass again. but ive been semi seeing her for over a year and nothing has happened.

so she keeps shooting me IMs and tells me shes going to stop by. so i told her i was going grocery shopping... thought id push her away. so shes says ok ill stop by on my way back from babysitting.

now my question, should i not be here? keep pushing her away?

or second plan that ive thought up. i think it might work.

she shows up i pretend to grab something and put my hands behind my back and say close your eyes i have a surprisei... then kiss her.

if she kisses back, fine, if she doesnt, ill just say sorry, i just didnt want to regret never doing that.

then just stop talking to her. and obviously shell be thinking about us, and then just make her chase me from there?

please let me know what you think this girl means the world to me and i know what im supposed to do but whenever im around her i do all hte wrong things.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

If you keep pushing her away for long enough, she'll just go away eventually. Never to return. There's a fine line between playing a little bit hard to get, or not appearing overly interested, and just appearing not the least bit interested in which case the other party could , would, and should split.

A couple of things: you've been, what did you say, "semi seeing" each other , for over a YEAR?? And "nothing has happened"??? What do you mean by nothing? You've never even kissed her yet? How old are you two?? And no, I would forget the whole putting your hands behind your back thing and making her close her eyes, or whatever all that was - just tell her you want to take it to the next level and kiss her; that other stuff sounds lame. I mean, what is this, 7th grade recess?? Quit trying to make her "chase" you, who's got the d!ck and balls, you or her, just tell her that you want to be with her in a more serious way, and make your move.

"You Can't Argue a Woman Into Liking You"

You made your case like a lawyer. Stable job. Good guy. Ready for something real. All true. All irrelevant.

She weighed your points, nodded along, felt nothing — then fell hard for some tattooed bartender with a motorcycle and a gambling problem.

Logic is where attraction goes to die. The "22 Rules" work a level deeper, on the subconscious switches that decide within minutes whether you register as a MAN or as part of the furniture.

Stop presenting evidence. Start flipping switches.
