Question About Ambushing

This post is related to the first one I made on SS.

My birthday's coming up in a few weeks and a drinking buddy called and asked me what my plans were. After I told him he warned me about that woman that brought me here.

I've been in total NC with her since I posted back in April. But he thinks she'll use the birthday as an excuse to worm her way back into my life. I assured him that she has no interest in me and vice versa. I'm confident about it. I'm not going to hear from her.

But he thinks she's been waiting for an opening to get back in. I told him I appreciate the concern but nothing's going to happen.

"I'm telling you it will," is what he kept saying.

Is this actually a thing? Where women wait patiently to ambush you after you move on? I haven't read anything like it on the forums.

He's not in her social circle so it's not like he has insider info. But he's ten years older than me and has been around the block a few times so I'm not just going to dismiss his warning.

That's what I thought until my buddy got it into my head that I have something to worry about. I mean, it's a done deal as far as I'm concerned.
