Hey -

When I can't hit the gym, I do a quick 50 push-ups in my room with slow repititions.

I was just wondering - when you do a wide-grip push-up with good form, what percentage of your body weight are you hoisting up with your arms? Have there been scientific/bio-mechanical studies to measure this?

For example, how many pounds would a man be pushing if he weighed 165 pounds, and did a push-up with his 'stance' wide, so that the middle of each hand/palm was about 4-5 inches from his shoulderblades?

I'd like to know this because my max bench is probably a bit over 200 - for my push-ups to have any reall effect on me I need to at least be pushing 80-100% of my body weight (I'd increase the reps to offset the decrease in 'bench' poundage).

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

If you want to use more of your bodyweight move your arms down from in line with your shoulders to in line with your solar plexus.
