Prospect from friend's wife

My buddy's wife wants to set me up with a 31 y/o teacher who he says looks great and is my type (Italian). Only problem is, she wants me to show up at the chick's second job some weekend to meet her for the first time.

I think this is a bad idea for first meeting. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad my friend's wife did it, and I wish she'd set me up with women more often, but this seems like it will be uncomfortable for her and irritating for me. It would be better for everyone involved if we met somewhere neutral and I had her undivided attention.

She'd probably be open to suggestion if I offered a different suggestion, but I can't think of anything. I don't want the pressure of having them all over to my house for a meal or something for a first meeting, that could come later. And I sure as hell don't want to be stuck footing the bill on a "blind date," which hasn't been done since "Three's Company."

Any ideas for something a little more casual? I really don't want to be interrupted by fvcking customers when I'm trying to establish rapport. Oddly I don't have a problem doing this with random chicks who happen to work in stores or whatever.

I got the wrong idea whe I read that headline!!! If possible, have a bbq, or convince your buddy to have one, some day when you know the chick can come. Its a nice, comfortable situation. or just casually meet for a drink, to introduce youselves, then set up a date if it goes alright.

Yea, coffee is a great idea. It's cheap and easy to bail out of. Get this girl's # from your friend and call her up. Make light of the situation and laugh about it. Meet for coffee and go from there.
