problem mostly is, remember sports live on ads, and ads need a certain "trend" going on to support then, so its not hard to notice they will say anything to make the puplic like then and in doing so more money come in

It's not like the team is gone, but I admit "Hail to the Washington Football Team" doesn't have the same ring.
Support the #Boycottthenba movement. Get politics out of sports!
The name is gone. The identity is gone. Therefore, the team is gone

Well, at this point I'm practically done with pro sports. The idea of spectator sports is kind of silly to begin with, and I'm certainly not going to watch to be preached at about how lousy the country is, and how we need to be more woke.
Maybe you should change your name to Poster92.

I'm a Former Marine and a minority. Dude minorities is not the problem. Maybe in the rest of the world but not the United States. As rick the toad said if we don't remember the past were doomed to repeat them. Do we really want to be fascist or communist? I don't find it too much to ask for is all BLM is asking is justice and equality.

It's funny you say that, because from what I see is that the people behind BLM aren't that interested in black lives, they are more interested in bringing about their socialist/communist utopia, disrupting the nuclear family, and replacing American and religious culture with their own agenda. I'm sure some will disagree with that, but that's where the politics comes in. BLM also funnels money to the Democratic party, so supporting them is supporting the Democratic party. Why should a sports league be involved with supporting one of the nation's political parties?

Everyone, or nearly everyone, is for justice and equality, but it isn't that simple. What constitutes justice? Should every cop who has shot a minority in the past 10 years be imprisoned, no matter what the circumstances are? Should the police be defunded? BLM says so, but the majority of Americans do not. What constitutes equality? Quotas? Reparations? Diverting funds to the inner city? Teaching children that the US was not founded in 1619, not 1776? Removing the 4th of July as a holiday because it celebrates white supremacy (as Colin Kaepernick claimed)? These are complicated issues, it's not as simple as saying hey we believe in equality so let's paint the name of a political organization on the court.

True. I'm not black by the way I'm asian. Considered a model minority.Anyhow we need to raise up these questions so we can fix them.Thats what I'm asking. If there is systemic racism shouldn't it be stopped? Should we support funding to give black kids a chance? Are blacks left behind if so how do we stop that from happening?

Anyhow we need to raise up these questions so we can fix them.
I'm all in favor of having that discussion, and that is a long discussion. But I don't think a basketball game or football game is the place to do it. That's where people want to go to relax and enjoy themselves, not to see the flag being made into a political statement, or political organizations promoted. That's the way I feel about it anyway.

true it does look like a marketing campaign rather than disenfranchised group of people. Yeah it is going to be a long discussion

Only combat sports are worthy of watching, today just as much as decades and centuries past. The practicality carries into all other aspects of life.

I love this. I never thought I'd live to see it.

For years these knucklehead owners said they'd never change anything...but as soon as their "sponsors" threatened to walk...BAM the name change. Nice principles Mr. Snyder. *******.

Kansas City football team and Atlanta baseball team are next. Just a matter of time before the owners cave to the economic pressure.

Suggested names:

Kansas City Huntmen
Atlanta Kings
Ha, good point. These owners were full of shyt, it's all about money. Snyder is especially terrible...him and his fake waiting list for season tickets. Love seeing his billion dollar stadium empty. Not against the team, fans, or employees...just his fan-hating a$$.

I find it very ironic that majority of the sports athletes making millions are black, yet you don't see all of them putting money back in their community. I bet if all the sports players gave 10% of their pay and invested it into their communities, we wouldn't be where we're at today.

I don't understand why the Chicago Blackhawks always get off the hook on this subject.

I really wish they'd just skip the pre-game national anthem, along with all of the other bullshiat-propaganda that the government makes a military show of.
From what I understand, the military pays the NFL a certain amount of money to promote them, so they're kind of like a sponsor.

I agree people constitutionally probably can't be forced to stand for the national anthem, even though it is a business. IMO it's bad business to offend customers by disrespecting the flag (and a lot of people take it as disrespecting the flag, no matter what people say). So I agree the best thing to do would be to simply stop playing the anthem. The anthem is meant to unite people, and clearly it doesn't serve that function anymore. The networks are smart because they quit showing the anthem, so they're not advertising the protests, which are basically meaningless by this point anyway.

Yeah they are definitely leaving some teams alone which I don't think it's a fair process.

In addition: KC Chiefs, Atlanta Braves
