The title basically sums up my question--What can I eat before a workout to ensure that I am powerful and energetic for my workout (e.g. carbs, proteins and what amounts and types)

Thanks.

Creatine and some natural sugars (fruits, for example). I usually pour a big glass of apple juice or something and mix some creatine in with it. Or buy some NO-Xplode, that has creatine in it and will also give you a huge energy surge for a couple hours.

Complex carbs are good. They provide you with long lasting energy. Stay away from high fat and high sugar foods. NO Xplode, energized expand, cytosport fast twitch....etc. Will give you a huge pump and energy boost (lots of caffeine), pre-workout. I personally don't eat an hour or two before my workout than take a serving of energized expand on an empty stomach which will give me a great boost for my workout.
