Playful Opener/Routine...Feedback

Let me get everyone's opinion on this opener/routine...I used it today...but before I tell what happened...I want to see what everyone thinks of it. It has to be used in a fun way, with lots of confidence and a smile (like anything, really).

Me: Hey!
Her: Hey!
Me:You see my friends over there? *Point to friend, or friends*
Her: Yeah
Me: Well, they bet me twenty bucks that I wouldn't come talk to you and get your number.

Her: I hope you didn't bet each of them twenty bucks, you'd be out of about $100! :kick:

It's a bit cliche, it also says you're not confident enough to talk to her unless you're in a bet. Still, if you've used it and it works for YOU then that's cool. It's probably a good ice breaker for a less confident/shy girl.
