nah it wont be a sweep, pistons came close in 4th period, they know they can win if they hustle. so far on the road they havent done that, but they'll have better luck at home.

Hat's off to the Spurs

They are one hell of a team. Probably the best in recent history. They play the right way even more so than the Pistons, and have an answer for every style of play that gets thrown at them.

They might drop one here if the Pistons' shooters get hot, but I don't see this one going beyond 5.

I cannot properly appreciate this series from the perspective of a Pistons fan. Better to just appreciate the kind of show the Spurs are putting on. :rockon:

I turned my TV off after first quarter. Refs were calling rediculous fouls on every damn possesion. sh1t, if Hamilton farted on Bowen , they'd call it.

ffs its the finals, let them actually play and rest of us enjoy the game.

It's exciting when Shaq shoots free throws. You always wonder in which way he will miss the FT. Will it hit the front of the rim? Will it hit the glass too hard? Will it partially go into the rim and then swirl out? You never know.

They'll drive in and then back up in a split second before they get an offensive, and score while drawing a foul on their opponent. Parker and Manu are masters at this.

Yes Pistons get called out more, but Bruce Bowen aside, Pistons play dirtier defense in my opinion. Like Hamilton hugging Ginobili from behind, or Hamilton and Rasheed period (http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.co...30605082535.photo00.photo.default-255x384.jpg) LOL at that pic)

Larry needs to stop complaining about refs, and teach his team to play cleaner bball next 3 games. He also needs to teach Rasheed not to get a temper tantrum everytime sh!t doesn't go his way and grab technicals. They need this guy to score, and not be a child.

If they make contact doing this while the other player is plaing normal defense, that's an offensive foul. Ginobili got away with a few of those at key points in game 1.

But the Pistons should expect some of that on the road, and deal with it. But I don't think this series is evenly-matched enough for it to make a difference.

If you complain about the officiating this year, I could've said the same about last year's finals and how the Lakers got more fouls...

Maybe it is the officiating.

Both teams do play very aggressive ball. Pistons win the next one, and we have a series.

This is beginning to remind me of the Pistons/Nets series last year.

I haven't been reading the thread, and besides, what am I gonna do? Post and talk sh!t about my team saying they play like high schoolers? I'm not that type of fan. I have full confidence in Popovich and the Spurs.

Like I said earlier:

I stand by my prediction. Detroit will win 2/3 games at home.

And I was right.

I also stand by my prediction that Spurs will win 1/3 games at detroit, and win game 6 in San Antonio.

2 games played in SA
3 in detroit
2 in SA

4 games need to be won. next game is played in detroit, and then 2 in san antonio.

The Spurs played disgracefully tonight from the start. 18 turnovers! Parker didn't score a field goal until the 2nd quarter was almost over. Where was Duncan! He knew he was playing miserably, but he couldn't get it together. No one expected him to have two bad games in a row. You know, they could have pulled off a Spurs comeback until about halfway through the third quarter... but the spark never came.

I hope they can turn it around... they have played their hearts out all year and their chance is slipping through their fingers. The good thing is, the Spurs are pretty consistent so 3 losses in a row probably won't happen... but we'll see. I don't think the Pistons really earned this game, they played well but the Spurs handed it to them.

Strangest series I've ever seen

I don't think the Pistons really earned this game, they played well but the Spurs handed it to them.

And playing great defense doesn't count? The Pistons played amazing D. I'd rarely seen them attack like that. And took care of the ball. The Pistons had only 4 turnovers. Sure as hell they earned the game, that much must be credited to them.

Thus far, this is the strangest series I've ever seen. Spurs blowing out the Pistons twice in their building, then the Pistons blowing out the Spurs even worse in the Pistons' building.

Aside from the obvious huge home/away difference (which I still think may be largely due to the way the games are called, both teams being very aggressive), it could be possible that the Spurs are getting a bit worn down. The Pistons were worn down and burnt out after the Heat series, whereas the Spurs were fresh, had been home for a bit, and just had to shake off a bit of rust in game 1. After travelling and getting swarmed by all those Pistons' long arms, the Spurs may be finally feeling the burn.

It was good for the Pistons to have gotten so much productivity from the bench. These guys can't be going for long minutes and hold up. Everyone got some rest. That may be huge.

I don't expect the same Spurs in game 5 as game 4, that's for sure. 5 is another huge game, because -- as strong as the Pistons looked last night -- I still doubt they can overcome Ginobili and Parker being able to virtually charge at will while the Pistons get called for the fouls for 2 consecutive games, which is what is likely to happen in SA.

But, with a weird-ass series like this, who knows what can happen?

That's why I said game 5 is huge

... because I'd be most surprised if the Spurs win game 5 and the Pistons take 6 & 7. That's the least likely scenario of all. I'd give about 40-1 odds against that happening.
