Interesting situation. My 'friend' that I'm after blew me off last week. Avoided me. So I called her up and got the machine. In a friendly voice I told her that if I didn't hear from her the next day I would assume that we weren't friends anymore and I was fine with it.

So the next day she calls me at work and tells me she wasn't dodging me and that we're good. I told her great but I'm busy and to call me that night. I made sure she said she'd call. She said she would but it would be late.

So it's past late now and she hasn't called. Either I mean so little to her that she forgot to call me or she is yanking my chain. I tend to think the latter, I don't think I've been assertive enough with her. I want to be assertive but I don't want to overdo it in this case.

What do you think and how should I approach my next call? Thanks.

You were done when you made an ultimatum on her answering machine. Move on - its over with this one.

There is no next call to make.

Your next approach should be shooting a gun in the background as you are calling her and screaming "YOU BETTER HANG OUT WITH ME OR ELSE."

or you can just forget it her and move on to better prospects.
