In highschool, it's not always smart to ask for a number during the first encounter. I mean, if it's just a random chick that you've never seen before fine. But if it's a girl in your class, wait a while. First build that level of comfort and bring up something fun that you/her enjoy doing like swimming, laser tag, tennis..... Then just say,
"hey we should go do that sometime"
Her: "sure"
You: "cool, wuts your number?"
Her: "1-800-hot-b1tch"

50 girls' numbers in HIGH SCHOOL doesn't seem like such a good idea to me. Because people in high school usually have established social circles, word might get around that you're just some creepy guy who asks for numbers.

Create comfort and make plans to hang out with a girl. When that's cemented in, you tell her to give you her number. That way, you already have a coffee date and the number will have a much higher chance of actually being REAL.

Just hang out and chill with girls in high school. If you want to do number closes, it's much easier (and has fewer implications) with strangers. You can easily do numbers anywhere OTHER than school.

You are in high school. Do you not go to house parties or gatherings with friends where you encounter new females? Approach one of them and start talking. As the conversation hits the climax, inform her that you must go back to attending your other friends (a time restraint) but you say you want to keep in touch. If you built enough rapport with her, she will give you her number.

It's as simple as that. Getting digits in HS is much easier than the outside world in other random places, take advantage of it and network with friends!
