It effects your mindet yes. As for personality, no. Some extreme cases it may happen though.

Usually oneitis just makes you a puppy to the person you have oneitis towards.

It's a crush. You're completely reactive to the person's presence and actions. Sure, love and liking someone is great, but there's a distinction.
