"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

so tonight i had to ask my son if he had cross country practice friday night because his father wants to know what time to pick him up for visitation.

he says "oh i might be going out"

say what?

pk: "with who?"
son: "girl"
pk:"where do you think you're going"?:nervous:
son:"movies"
pk: "you got some money or something?"
son:"nope":D

so i tell him to call his father.
i guess he updates his father on his news, cause his father asks "taking a cab?"

son is 15... the chick he asked out is 14... she says she has to ask her daddy first.

i'm not ready to chauffeur kids on dates.
i'm not an old lady yet!

and most importantly... am i expected to pay for this?
i am aren't i?:trouble:

ready or not, my son is growing up:cry:

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

that's so awesome. :)

I remember my first date... she was the hottest blonde in class... and she liked Ozzy. We were I think 13 or 14... we met at the movies.. and saw some Denzel Washington movie... where he was a son to a white father. I don't remember the movie too much.. but I do remember her breath kinda stunk. lol ...we just held sweaty hands.

Better for a girl to start early than late

i hope all goes well enough for him too.

i am trying hard to adapt into a mother of a teenager.
it's suddenly a bigger change than i expected.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

15, 12, 11 and 5.

the 12 yr old boy got his first kiss last week at a school dance. the girl now races to kiss him everyday before he gets on the bus to leave.

the 15 yr old wants to learn to drive and date and go to football games and run cross country.

Why should you pay for his dates?! he is 15, he can go bag groceries or deliver newspapers for extra dough.

You should introduce him to the souave bible or at least give him some good sound advice (if he asks), you don't want him turning AFC because this 14 year old midriff is going to mess with his head.

You have a son? You are 32. How the hell did you have a son at 15? You are a kid yourself. What the ????

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

When I was that age, my mother asking me about girls was akin to being interrogated by the SS. I'm surprised you got that much out of him.

Just spare him the AFC advice mothers love to give.

Nevermind my comment, I thought it was a dude speaking. I just assume everyone here is a man.
It's my impression, or the MM board is having more women posters than usual ?

damage - i had a talk with him last night. i told him that if he wants to meet some little girl up at the football game or the skating rink or movies and he just needed money for himself, that was one thing that was reasonable.
however, asking me to cart them around all night in my vehicle and pay for his way of dating a girl was unreasonable.
i told him that it's one thing to be meeting up to do stuff and another to be actually dating and that i thought if he was man enough to date, he should be driving and working to afford it.
i am actually going to make some ground rules over the weekend for this stuff.

sxs, trent81, san jose- i had my son right after i turned 16.

sxs- i have been posting on the mm board since it was brand new, and i have been at this site since 01.

Yes, teach him how to seduce and knock up a 16 year old chicky so someday his son can go on a date on his visitation day. :D

I am still disturbed by the fact that a man my age can have a grown ass son. I couldn't imagine having a kid who is almost a high school senior. That is just crazy. I never realized how old I was until I read this thread.

I think that sounds great. It's hard to make a young man understand that, as his mother, you'll be supporting him no matter what, but that part of your duties as said mother is to teach him responsibility and how to fend for himself. It's sometimes difficult to get the blend good enough so that it'll be palatable for the young man, best of luck!

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.
