"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

I'm searching but i can't find the answer to this question. It seems like it would be made clear whether or not you should pay for the date but I can't find anything.

I'm doing lunch with a girl tomorrow. It's a first date. Should I pay for it? Can anyone answer this or link to a thread where they do?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

What kind of lunch?

I pay for small things. Coffee, ice cream, maybe a salad or something. If it's an actual meal we split the bill. Buying small stuff isn't AFC. I mean what the hells $2 for an ice cream cone? It only gets out of hand if you start buying all her meals and drinks.

Did you invite her? If so, that means you pay. Just manners, not seduction.

Some say the guy should always pay for the 1st 5 or so. But you're probably asking her out the 1st 5 times, so in general, yes.

Others say you shouldn't even buy her a sandwich unless she's already slept with you.

What you don't want to do is take her someplace too expensive, like you're trying to impress her enough to convince her to like you. Just go someplace cheap, where it doesn't hurt to pay.

I would stay away from dinners or lunch dates. If you are doing lunch, hopefully it is no your first get together. Only take them to eat if there is already some chemistry and you like eachother's company, not to first meet and get to know someone.

If you invited, you pay. End of the story. I agree with Phyzzle, yet I wouldn't take somebody to dinner/lunch on the first 5 dates. I would immediately ask her the always charming and effective question: "When are gonna cook for me?" By this time, she should be eager to do it. The more she does for you, the more she feels worth of your attention, the more she will value you.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Ok this is a mixed bag,so I will only speak out about what I KNOW HAS WORKED FOR ME!

If I take the women out I pay for the date,no questions. Its just something I do,heck I even pay for my friends sometimes. After the first couple of dates,if stuff gets a little more serious, they always offer to pick up tabs, bills etc.
