Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

I don't know if I'm caring about this too much or what, But I really love my girl and I would do anything for her.. and don't think this is AFCish or whatever, nah.. it's love, I know it is.

Anyway, my concern.. I'm a very quiet person around people, unless I get to know them very well and am around them often. I was quiet around my girl at first.. and now I don't shut up. But that's besides the point... every time I'm around her family, I have nothing to say. I don't know why, I just can't think of anything. I guess im not a good conversationalist.

My girl even told me that her family associates 'quiet people' as 'mean people'. I'm like dude.. wtf is that about? I think it's kinda ridiculous. I don't even care about her family, but in a way I do. The way that I care about them is that I want them to like me. But I don't know how to carry on a conversation with them.

Can anyone help me? I know it's asking for a lot.. but someone, please.

“The 22 Rules That Flip the Script With Women… And How You Can Use Them Tonight”

Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.

Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers.  Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.

I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.

sometimes to make a good impression on parents you have to be bold with the opinions. Just don't go overboard (i.e. uber insulting)

I know what youre going through, im the same way. Say hi to them and ask how theyre doing. You dont have to chat all day, just shoot the sh*t real quick and then youre done.

You need to go through bootcamp.

traj makes some good points as well. For some reason parents don't like the quiet type, they often like the boldtypes though, as long as you aren't the jerk/bad boy type in front of them you should be ok.

You sound young, just my impression, and I always seemed quiet too when I was younger. It takes a little bit to develop some convo skills. But read the newspaper, some books or whatever your interests are.

I'm no master, but to not seem quiet just start talking about sh!t,

- the weather "wow, its great out I love the sunshine on a summer day"
- sports teams "world cup soccer, Brazil is going to take it all, who are you routing for?" maybe they are into sports maybe not.
- cars "have you seen the new Jeep Commander, that thing rocks"
- pick any visual queues at her parents house and chat it up "wow, that ceramic rooster is quite majestic, where did you get it"

just basically start babbbaling with a point, they will pick up on some thing then let them talk. Mention recent improvements to their house and ask about the work that was done. Tell them about some recent thing you did like a soccer game, band recital or whatever. (not roasting one on the playground)

I know its rough, but I don't think they really believe you are mean, just have fun and realize that people like talk and socialize.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
