Your parents with the curfews and crap, just don't trust you. Regardless of trust, like someone already said, parents want you to be their little baby as long as possible. It is really kinda selfish in my opinion. While you are sitting at home or spending time with family because they pressure you into it, you are missing out on your own life, your social life to be specific. My parents are kinda like yours but it is mainly my mom. I am 19 living at home still while I go to college (money thing, parents pay for college, I stay at home, pretty nice really), but I am missing out on the complete college experience because of this. Anyway, everytime I go somewhere my mom does just what yours does: calls me to check up on me. It is pathetic, but I understand. My dad on the other hand doesn't do that, but he cares just as much as my mom about keeping me "in the family." My mom is constantly asking me questions like how I feel and how was my day and useless crap like that I don't care to hear because I am no longer a baby. If I go somewhere with friends or a girl, she will prod me with 1000 questions about it. I am dam-nnear embarassed just to bring a girlfriend over because of this crap. She got mad at my brother for laying on the couch with his girlfriend in front of everyone at our house, it was stupid. I don't even WANT to attempt sex in this house, they probably wouldn't like it, but once again, I understand. They actually encourage me to do things and go out and stuff, and my mom basically said it was ok if I drank a little bit as long as I am careful, but I still feel the pressure to spend time with them like they want me too. But dude, listen to me, you need to kinda ignore what they are saying to you and get your own life.

my parents are cool

wow, I am lucky

No...
curfew (never went partying and don't plan on it. Stupid in my opinion.)

no bills (parents pay for everything)

allowed to sleep in the same bed as my LDLTR

allowed to borrow car for two trips a month (300-some miles at least per trip)

caring parents

told me to just buy protection although they would be upset if I had sex (still a virgin although I could change that very easily ;) )

The reason that they trust me is because I have never betrayed their trust, have a solid 3.7 GPA, stay away from drugs, don't party, have many friends from all over the state, and many other things. I never had a problem with this until after Pennsylvania Governor School of Excellence for Teaching. Now I am ready to soar the skies and not look back for a long time.

although they don't want me to leave, they must realize that I need my freedom because when college comes in a year, then I am going to be entirely free and if I don't get it. Bad things usually result from it. I am spreading my wings and refuse to go back to the nest.

I am staying at home during college because my parents are paying for it and I want to save them some money, especially if I expect them to help me pay for medical school if I choose to go. I get half tuition payed for through a scholarship and I am still doing this, because med school is EXPENSIVE. I figure, if I can save them an extra $20K or so, AND have the luxury of my own home, why not? I can still stay out as long as I want, and I still have freedom, it is just that I feel pressured into spending a lot of time with them. They pay for practically everything and make sure I get by easily (probably because they want a dam-n good retirement/nursing home when they get old), and I have almost complete freedom except when it comes to getting sexual with girls in the house..... I can kiss, but when they're there, I am pretty certain they don't want me fu-cking around like that. I understand. While I am not sure about my dad (he basically lets anything go), I am pretty certain my mom doesn't want me having sex in the house, even in my own bedroom. Whether they do or not, I don't like the idea of doing it with them around either.

comic, you might be more free in college, but it is a lot more responsibility, and it isn't the "easy" life by any means. Rather shi-tty if you ask me, especially if you don't like to party, because that's basically all there is to do when you're away from home.
